Did anyone see the explosion on a passenger train in Switzerland which was carrying the swine flu on board? 21 people were infected. So why would a passenger train be carrying swine flu? Alot of medical professionals that actually work the floor are disturbed at how the media is blowing all this up. More deadly germs are on public facilities then H1N1. Thousands die of flu related illness on hospital floors daily. Everyone on the medical floor at local hospitals aren't even flinching...

First off, it's not just a flu. Swine flu or in this case, "Swine-like flu" as the article called it, is one the Medical community hasn't dealt with before so they don't know what's going to happen. This is only the beginning. This is also about public safety. Let's not forget Mexico City is a filthy place. This is the city where a lot of people died because gasoline was being dumped in its sewer system and exploded. Mexico is where the plant disease called wheat rust came from and ravaged acres of grain in Arizona. This is not about racism. Illegal or not, I've been in restaurantslocally where I've been in mens room and have all too often seen latino restaurant employees failing to wash their hands. I don't go to those place anymore. I don't care if they were born here, unsanitary is unsanitary. Another valid point is that illegals don't come from places that are thriving and have good healthcare. They come from places like La Gloria that is swarming with pigs. Don't forget, the child who died in Houston was from Mexico. Politics, race, gender and nationality don't matter. Porous borders and following the death tree to its roots does.

Look at Baxter Pharmiceutical and the way they shipped out to 18 yes, 18 different countries, 2 liveavian flu viruses combined in with a human flu strain. My point is this, there was no major story on CNN, FOX or any other news agency that the main stream public were privy to. It was never talked about.
There was no follow up or even any right questions being asked or truth coming forward voluntarily like how many of the other Countries already mass produced or integrated the lots into actual vaccines.
Let me enlighten you. One of the growing mediums used to manufacture vaccines are eggs. Because the vaccines are grown in eggs, when ever a person who has been vaccinated there is a reaction to some people who eat eggs or even come in contact with them. The Same is true with most of the allergies out in society.
The way vaccines are orcistrated, all the conductor has to do is have the musicians warm up before the concert in the park, at first only a few hear the music and as time goes on and the symphony begins everyones listening sits back and enjoys the concert.

This swine flu hype is not as serious as any regular flu that people get normally.
More people die from the regular flu then the swine flu ever will (Unless it is the man made version) and more people die every year from vaccine related injury and prescription medicines alone then this swine flu propaganda ever will.
The point here is we went this route in the 70's with the swine flu hype that the vaccine that they said would save you killed so many people that got vaccinated that the vaccination stopped.

their families when i say that today's Graduation Ceremony was highly
insulting to its Graduates. Not only were we given two
seconds to pick up our degrees, we weren't even allowed to practice the
time honored tradition of shaking our Dean's hand due to over hype in
the media about Swine Flu, which no cases have been found within our
student body to date, the students who were the ones to be in direct
contact with the Dean. So thanks media, for destroying one of the most significant moments in my life.

It really is true that kids today are all about themselves. If this is the worst thing that this young adult has to deal with he will be very lucky!!! Life is about sacrifice. I saw people today with masks on, I live in rural Iowa. What the @!$%# is wrong with people. We have a world of information at our finger tips. What if the strain traveled inward towards Mexico ? (not outwards from Mexico) What if... the strain had been among us already without being noticed before, and it reached this village, where it proved to be fatal for people dealing with a more fragile health system...

I think the US government's response to this flu was a total failure. Back when they thought the flu was deadly, they refused to enforce quarantines around affected people in the US for political reasons. They did not prevent traffic back and forth across the Mexican border, for political reasons. They did not tell workers and school kids to stay home from school, for political reasons. If this had been Ebola, we'd all be dead, for political reasons. I can understand loosening quarentines when it is decided the flu is just a common cold, but they should have been a little more vigilent when it was still considered a deadly threat to the masses. We are very fortunate this virus has such a low mortality rate. Next time we may not be so lucky.

My Prediction: Millions will die from the virus, not the swine virus but the next virus. The Swine virus is just a test case for the next virus. The swine virus is a manufactured virus like the next one. My guess is that the next virus will originate in the same region and will be released during the winter holidays within the next 3 years. it appears Mexico is a filty, medically unprepared nation. In some areas, clearly a "third-world nation" with very few health and safety precautions, regulations. Surprise, surprise. And we wonder why some want borders protected!! Just imagine if they had crossed borders with anthrax, smallpox, or worse!

I know that what I have to say here really doesn't matter. But the title of this article is mis-leading,"How Swine Virus Hopscothched The Globe". All because of the one mis-used word ,"How". Nowhere in the article does it give any indication as to 'how' this virus is traveling and in fact is full of a lot of quotes from people saying they don't know 'how' it's moving the way it has been... In this and any situation, for that matter,clear communications is essential. There are already people in chatrooms stating misconceptions as fact. Most of it put in place by either sensationalism or poorly written articles. As a supporter of a free press I am finding it difficult to not disagree with criticisms of the media concerning it's handling of this topic.
Kerry's posting about Baxter is worth noting. Baxter spread the virus and now is assigned to work with the World Health Organization to develop a vaccine for the swine flu. Do you see a contradiction here?
I've been through the first Swine Flu outbreak in 1957, the Hong Kong in the early 60's and every yearly flu outbreak, I've had the flu once in my life, in my early 20's and that was many years ago. Since I apparently don't get flu bugs, I still will use caution for all I know I may carry the virus, not get it but could spread it like wildfire which is what many folks are doing! We have many carriers but few with the flu right now but it could change, why take the chance. I can and do still have fun I just do it wisely!

This entire thing is baffling to me.
The last report I read we have roughly 7 confirmed people dead as of Thursday this last week.
Since January 1st, 2009 to April 18th, 2009 the normal flu, not 'swine flu' has killed 13,000 people. That's per reporting for direct deaths caused by flu and flu related complications. That's no less then 800 per week. Why exactly is a flu that registered 7 deaths trumping this information? People just need a crisis to feel important.

I think this all started several weeks before it all became noticed. A group of students from a local Catholic school went to mexico to take items to an orphanage that they support. After the students came home they all came down with a terrible flu. It went through the school like wildfre, 80 or so came down with it. The kids all were so sick. It appears it still is going through our community. I don't think this just started last week or the week before. I would bet this is what the students who went to mexico and then the students that all came down sick had,"the swine flu". They have all recovered. Thank God
children probably get the flu worst cause there the least concerned about spreading the virus around by sneezing , coughing , or unclean hands and runny noses .
