Being a man who lost his wife in childbirth, I find your comment to be revoltingly ignorant. My wife and I wanted a child, and embraced the idea of being future parents. The child we had created was out of love, and something we CHOSE NOT TO ABORT!
OH GOD....I can't believe now their blaming obesity for the rise in deaths during childbirth...when does it end. Having a baby is a risk and not pretty no matter who you are...
Too many interventions due to a litigious society as well as one that requires so much more help than is present. There are way too many undereducated women having babies-and I'm not talking about education level. I am referring to the fact that women do not understand the risks of c-sections, and virtually all the medications offered to women giving birth. Any woman opting to have an elective c-section (as in she does not need one, just pointing this out since there are of course situations in which it is necessary) without giving natural childbirth a chance does not understand what she is subjecting herself to. The WHO set a 15% goal for a reason!
We have heard the same bs over an over again. Obesity is NOT the cause of the increasing maternal mortality rates.
Anti-choice laws are the ONE and ONLY reason why maternal mortality rates are so high in America.
