I think Oprah means well, but, she is easily manipulated. It would be good of the entertainers stuck with entertaining and stayed out of politics, of which they obviously know NOTHING.

Watching Oprah makes you a better person because if you are watching her show, you are most likely unemployed and sitting at home. It is better to watch her than go postal somewhere and kill innocent people. These same Oprah watchers are the ones lawyers pick to fill jury seats because they are mindless.

Offensive title, offensive article. I've never seen "Oprah", I was working, raising my kids and volunteering in my church and community. Her show airs in my area during prime work/kid/volunteer time, and I've never had the time nor the inclination to tape anything to watch later as some folks do. This article insults everyone across the board. Oprah can handle her own business without poorly written articles like this.

This was absolutely ridiculous. I'm female and I feel anything but warm and fuzzy anytime I see this phony baloney. I watched her show many years ago and I remember the shills and plants in her audiences...the scariest looking white man ever spitting out racial hate while she cooly stood there holding the microphone to his face without comment or reaction. The young, dumb, pretty white girl who wanted to know what the problem was with blacks getting jobs when they could all get jobs playing basketball. I could go on...but they funny thing is...these same people kept on appearing in her audiences and she kept on taking their comments and no one noticed??? I noticed. That and a whole lot more about her and her scam sham show. At least Jerry Springer acknowledges that his show is a joke. I have a great deal more respect for him than I would ever have for dopey Opey.

One reason why I unplugged my TV....six years ago and couldn't be a happier... I even have my very own thoughts now after a period of confusion and not understanding that nobody was telling what to do anymore.., It was a strange world after 25 years of TV junk...,,I have my own thoughts, not some Media personalities thoughts... So I think differently than most of the people out there and the Media censors me as often as they can..because I think differently,, I think my own thoughts...You don't think 40 hours of watching TV a week affects you...Look at the bottom line of this Story.....

I read years ago that most TV shows are aimed at an audience whose collective mentality is that of a 5th grader, which explains why that show with that phrase in the title is so successful, even today's game shows, and Idol and Survival shows are all aimed at the same group...

Sports, ever notice how quickly the screen changes are made,,about every 8-10 seconds,,well, that is about the mind speed of an 8 year old attention span, and that is why they do it... All those facts and figures coming at you??? Well guess what age group thrives on that... It is all carefully studied and written into the programing....

So those with a higher intelligence rarely are seen watching the average three channels, they are off into other area's with 200 channels to pick from...

Radio for sports used to be more fun to listen too, you actually had to use your brain and imagination to get an accurate picture of what was going on in the game....but today's announcers suck,,,they don't even pay attention to the game, in fact the last time I listened to the Baseball game on Radio it was 15 minutes, yes 15 minutes before the two announcers told you the score, other than that they were like to old worthless guys reminiscing about their youth or something and then a commercial every 5 minutes to really throw you off...Disgusting...

So yeah, Oprah might have an impact on people.......

While I'm annoyed by her blatant race ethics I do believe different charities and issues can get a boost by being on her show. Product sales sky rocket when they appear on her show so if some issue not being highlighted by adequtely on other places gets a spotlight I have do believe the mob mentality might work here for the right cause.
