Women who get pregnant through in vitro fertilization or intracytoplasmic sperm injection have a higher risk of stillbirth, scientists have found, although the overall risk is still low.
IVF stillbirth risk 4 times higher

Could the increased risk be due to the health of the couple to start with?
If your body doesn't want to be pregnant, then maybe it just doesn't want to be pregnant.
It's the way you roll the stats; Its probably per a child. So a woman with IVF is injected with 5 fetuses and 1 is born (alive), 80% of the fetuses might be considered stillborn.
Are we missing the point?
IVF/ICSI provided healthy children to many couples that otherwise would not have had a chance of a healthy child.
There were 742 babies delivered after IVF-ICSI in the study. 730 were liveborn, that is, 98.4% of the babies.
These are 730 children born to families that otherwise would not have had children.
IVF/ICSI provided a dramatic, substantial, and lasting benefit to these families.
I think the doctors and clinics are just making sure they are covered from any lawsuits since people are suing for anything these days. They want the parents to know of any potential risks, although the benefits far outweigh the risks. They know there is an increased risk of stillbirth, but without IVF they would never have the opportunity to become parents in the first place. IVF is a miracle to these people and the doctors responsible are giving a wonderful gift, to both the parents and the child.
