Thank God I have a second home in France so I can travel there and stay for a week or 10 days and enjoy real cheese, wholesome natural food and tomatoes that taste of something. My wife and I have a saying - "everything tastes better in France". Food in America is all chemicals.
I agree there should be more oversight of contaminated food products but the same people who are howling for more oversight are also howling about government spending. I don't think that FDA inspectors and so on suddenly appear from outer space and work for free.

There will never be any decent oversight by the FDA because it would mean that corporate America would make less money. Especially after the latest U.S. Supreme Court decision that allows corporations to donate truck loads of money to political campaigns.
Isn't hydrolized vegetable protein another name for MSG? So that ingredient should be avoided anyway. Sounds like they sanitized the name "MSG" for public consumption. When people catch on to the new name, they'll have to come up with something else.
Correction -- hydrolized yeast extract is another name for MSG. So what's hydrolized vegetable protein, I wonder. I wish the article would explain.
