I believe it should be illegal to sell eggs, just as it is illegal to sell people . The eggs represent the future generations of one's family, so donating them to someone to have to use to get pregnant should be considered like an adoption of one's children. Sometimes adoptions are anonymous, sometimes they are not, but all the parents have a lifetime of responsibility to the children as well as the community to raise them, so it should be considered thoughtfully and with the intent to make sure the family who receives the services as well as the donors are protected to make sure they and their children are not injured. I think that the procedure could be misused by zealots wanting to have children from certain racial types, thinking that they will be at an advantage financially to get the income of the child's race to live off of, such as in the case of AmerIndians and casino gambling or tribal income, that violate the spirit and intent of the Indian Child Welfare Act as well as the genocide laws regarding the forcible transfer of children from one group to another that should be considered in terms of trying to harvest ovum by force or illegally to have the children of other racial groups as well as their financial support converted as well. On the other hand, if their group are in danger of extinction then their future generatins should be protected at all costs. I am grateful for the work to stop human trafficking and believe ovum and sperm harvesting should be included in this legislation to avoid kidnapping as well as the concept of stripping the DNA out of the harvested ovum and inserting the infertile woman's DNA into an ovum, or trying to genetically engineer ovum to insert male DNA for the woman's DNA that could make normal pregnancies obsolete and lead to the types of society depicted in the book Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, where people are engineered to be at various intelligence levels according to some human viewpoint of the world. How in the world could humans know best anything to do on this planet when our own shortsighted development has been the cause of natural disasters and catastrophes affecting whole ecosystems and causing animal and plant and tribal or community extinction? The very people that genetic engineering of this type proposes to eliminate are the very people they need to keep alive to save their own lives and the human race as well as the world from extinction.
