I'm 68 years old and have never seen a pit bull attack. I'm amazed at the amount of ignorance that is floating around on pit bulls. I own a wonderful, people loving American pit bull terrior named Pinkie in Oregon and know many other owners of friendly pits. Most of the editorials I've read written by people that want to ban all pits and even exterminate them, in my oppinion, are very misguided and might not even own a dog or at least are not very well aquainted with dogs and especially the pit bull breed. I am and I can tell you that a pit that bites is rare. What I'm saying is that the breed itself is good! What is happening is that a certain segment of our human population has chosen the breed of pit bull to train as an attack dog or fighting dog. It's the training of dogs to fight or attack that should be banned, not the breed or the dog itself! Any dog that habitually bites should probably be put down and the owner fined and punished, sometimes severely, even going to jail. But to try to single out a whole particular breed as dangerous is ignorant, an overreaction, and absurd.

Denver needs not to be part of the USA anymore. This is the land of the free, Denver apparently missed that part. They are a disgrace to this country. We need to disown them and every American needs to move out of the city. They might as well be part of Nazi Germany. I wish the whole city would just have a nuclear melt down and anyone who is for this ban can just die for all I care. I hate this city and it makes me sick. How the hell can they get away with crap. It's un American and plain ignorant. I can't believe people can survive in life being this stupid.

Why not in force muzzles Seems banning pits is expensive .killing them expensive searching for them expensive. City should hand out muzzles

This is what i think of this ban. If anyone ever tried to take my two pitbulls they wouldn't have to worry about my dog's attacking and hurting them, they would have to worry about me attacking and hurting them. Irrisponsible owner's need to be held accountable and punished not the responsible owner's. People like this in office have no business being in office. total bull or should i say pitbull crap...

I wanted to add this. My husband and I own two American pitbull's I'm in my 50's and my husband is 65. We got Nikki when she was 6 mos old, Nemo is her son and I delivered him. they both have been socialized from day one. they are both fixed also. We used to be scared of pitbull's, only because of what the new's reported on them. What they fail to also report is how great of a dog they are when raised right,by keeping them socialized around kid's other dog's and animal's and people. Each year at halloween time they are right out with us passing out candy. all of our neighbor's know these dog's and enjoy seeing them. Our vet always give's them special treat's when she know's they are coming. When we've had to board them for a week each year because of vacation, they are hardly ever in their kennel because the boarder's let them roam the office during the day with the cat's that the boarder's own. My husband and I have never had any problem what so ever with our dog's, our grandkid's love playing with them and they have never even acted mean or anything with them. They actually are scared of when you fart, they'll go to their bed in the bedroom when you do it in front of them ( I'm not sure why ) but that's the only problem they have. so i do believe it has everything to do with ownership and how they are raised. and i believe that if a person dosen't have the time to spend with these sweet dog's they shoulldn't get these type of dog's. we love our dog's with all our heart's.

this is @!$%#ing ridiculous. theyre no better than freaking nazis. the dog isnt bad. its the stupid morons tht teach them to be mean. pit bulls are powerful but theyre very sweet n gentle. i worked at a humane society n they were all amazing animals. trying to get rid of a species is insane whoever thinks its a good idea needs to be dragged away to an animal shelter and put on death row so they can get a taste of their own medicine. this makes me so mad. these dogs are not just animals they're family and friends and just great to have around. these ppl that passsed the law should be ashamed of themselves. @!$%#ing nazi ass dumb mother @!$%#ers. excuse my language i'm mad. dont like it? get over it.
