Rep. Randy Neugebauer, who apologized to a fellow House member for shouting "baby killer" during debate on the health care bill, is now running a campaign ad vowing to continue speaking out against abortion.

Your going to see a lot more of this from the right.. After Joe Wilson's outburst, he made 1.5 million in donations? It's all about the money, why do think Neugebauer put a donation tab next to his apology... Something is getting stinkier by the day...I think when they disrespect the house they should get their voting rights yanked immediately for a set time.
Put that one in the "bag of dirty tricks" category ... no wonder people have a low opinion of Congress. He knew exactly what he was doing - much like the webmaster at the Tea Party HQ responsible for the cutting of the gas line. When told that the gas line was cut at the Congressman's brother's house by mistake, he responded "Whoa ... collateral damage" - while concurrently issuing a statement that he had no intention of inciting violence. This country is in a bad way when we put aside debate for terrorism. This is verbal terrorism at its finest. I simply can't believe that our own citizens are becoming political terrorists, but the evidence is piling up.
Peace
A Carrie Prejean wanna be, a Joe Wilson copy cat, ... please do something original next time.
go adopt an unwanted child
No one cares
Such typical right wing BS! They claim to want to protect life, but ONLY for the unborn. After you are born, if you can't get health care, those same people do NOT give a crap for your life then. Post-birth, the almighty dollar is valued far more than human life, in the conservative world
Yeah, the money he spent on the ad could have helped the foster children in his home. Whoops, there aren't any, ARE there?
These men that are all yelling about abortions is interesting. It's not their issue, none of them are capable of bearing a child. They simply want to dictate what a woman must do. Until they grow female organs, they should just shut up.
Most of them look like female organs, does that count?
We have had here for the last few years, for the first time in history, a method by which we can monitor in real time, the national mood on abortion. A database could be set up to register the opinion of every voter in the nation. A registered voter could log on, set their vote for either "Pro-Choice" or "Anti-Choice". When there is one vote more for anti as there is for pro, then abortion, for that time, would be abolished. There would also be a 50% tax exercised on every anti-choice voter, to allow them to pay for their choice. The money would go to any pregnant woman willing to swear she would have gotten an abortion if that option had been open.
If there is one more pro-choice vote, than anti-choice, then abortion would become legal again, and the extra tax would begine to go away, except for those women with children receiving it. I will disappear, as long as the pro-choice count stayed above the anti-choice account and after any child born under the anti-choice stance turns 21. Everybody gets what they are willing to pay for.
I'm sure Randy was "humbled" by the telephone calls and e-mails from his supporters; both of them.
Not sure calling yourself counts.....
Again I say, find out who is running against this idiot and send them money. Doesn't matter if you choose the primary opponent or the general opponent, just get this jerk out of Congress. There are enough stupid people in Washington DC, getting rid of one can only help the situation.
Too bad he won't be as "passionate" about the post-born. Once a fetus is born, all bets are off, and it's everyone for themselves. The anti-choicers won't fund pre-natal care, pre-school, support healthcare reform so women don't have to pay MORE for the same policy a man gets, or schools in general (it's the first thing that gets cut in almost every budget shortfall). But, hey, the rights of a non-person (a fetus, aka, a parasite) are more important than actually taking care of the ones that are already here, and definitely more important than the woman who has to carry the little bundle of "joy" around for 9 months. If it were men who had to carry the little tykes and be the primary care-takers of said tyke, I'd bet that abortions would not only be legal, but they would be FREE!
What a disrespectful jerk! Ignore him like a person with a contagious disease.
So the new Republican tactic is to shout "Babykiller" or "You lie!", apologize, then use the outburst to get campaign contributions from extreme fanatics? Gross.
But he could twist a few arms and offer HUGE bribes at the taxpayers expense as President Obama & Senator Pelosi have done and that's not a problem?
But Ryan Rudominer, spokesman for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, took issue with Neugebauer's actions, saying there was no line Republicans "won't cross if they think it will appeal to the far right."
What a bunch of hypocrites.....disgusting....lying, cheating, bullying and raping the taxpayer, but you want to condemn a man for yelling? I guess there are no lines the DNC and the democrats won't cross.
millerz - grow up a little. Name-calling doesn't make a valid argument. If you're not going to keep up with the news, hold off on those posts. The "huge bribes" you speak of (are you referring to the Nebraska & Louisiana agreements?) were already pulled out of the bill. Counterpoint: Republicans standing in the way of school loan reform, proposed to get the middle-man banks out of the profit mix... the banking interests have bought that vote. Time for a little fair and balanced dialogue from you.
Incidently, the Republicans in Senate yesterday not only dragged out the healthcare reform amendments - they procedurally objected to letting cabinet/committee work proceed: homeland security reps from our Military came from Hawaii and Korea for a meeting that the Republicans killed. A committee meeting to address the needs of Homeless Veterans was killed... nutrition for school children and many more meetings were "objected" to and procedurally cancelled. Time for everyone in DC to wake up & smell the coffee. They are wasting time and our dime.
Peace
Seems like the Republicans become energized by such irresponsible behavior. I predict that it won't be long before they start fist fights with Dems on the floors of the House and Senate much like members of Japan's ruling houses do every now and then. It may make for exciting TV but is very destructive toward the democratic process.
Hi JackBNimble: terrible, but it's a piece of history (and we know how that repeats...). A great movie (hard to watch) that covered a violent time in American politics is "The Gangs of New York". I dread any kind of throw-back to those days...
When a man can magically form a uterus and go through what a woman goes through, then they can blather on and on all they want. Until then, however, these same men can STFU.
This guy - like all other anti-abortion hypocrites - is a tool.
As a man I couldn't have said it better myself!
From a bumper sticker: "If men got pregnant, abortion would be a sacrament".
Peace...
It's really simple. If you have a uterus, it's no one's business but your own. If you don't have a uterus, then mind your own business.
Did you check out his wife's body language - check this character out for domestic violence - she looked scared as a kitten stuck in a tree...how the hell did I get here!?!?!?!
REALLY reaching there Juanita....lol....talk about assumptions....
She was probably just embarassed to be married to this piece of useless flesh. Just an assumption... but I sure would be embarassed to be married to a dirty-fighter.
Peace
There is a whole lot of studies around body language, not just between husband and wife but also the whole family.
open mouth, insert foot
Where's the MSNBC article regarding Biden dropping the f-bomb that those who were listening and watching know about? No mention on MSNBC. How "convenient."
Where's Biden's apology to the international community for his (again) stupid mouth that races faster than his brain? Missing .... how "convenient."
Randy apologized ... what's good for the goose is good for the gander.
Did Bush apologize for the "f-bomb" he dropped at a meeting of world leaders? Same difference. This is not a "gaffe," nor would it be newsworthy, especially since he said it "privately" to Obama, not expecting the mic to pick it up. He did not shout it out in House Chambers for all to hear, nor did he interrupt anyone to make the statement. You're reaching for excuses for Neugebauer's poor manners.
NJ Person - after reading your post as well as other republican responses on this board I can say with certainty that all of your knowledge combined would result in an IQ of 2 digits.
Seriously - how can you equate the f-bomb to abortion - get in the correct discussion group! Go out back of the high school with the teenagers and discuss what words are appropriate. Jeez - remember when Cheney was in the Congress and dropped the f-bomb - hilarious. I'm sure Hannity is at a loss over the f-bomb as well.
Where's Bush when we need him? I've got an awful neck ache, and need a good rubbing... If you see him, tell him I'm looking for him...
Angela Merkle
Was it not Dick Cheney who was over heard telling someone to F-off?
Typical republican gas bag hypocrite.....wants to have it both ways.
There is something very wrong and rotten in the republican party! It's become a party of right wing NUTS and nasties who don't like the people of this country very much!
President Obama gave the Republicans as much rope as they wanted, and they hung themselves! Again and again the Republicans are showing themselves for who they are. Their obstructionist tactics work in the short term, and all I can say is thank God that President Obama's faith in the process was vindicated.
The President's advantage has been his restraint, his trust in our system. It has been ugly. The Republicans have resorted to lies, vile racism, to hate- and fear-mongering, but President Obama stuck by his belief that his version of our country is better than that of the mob rule of ignorant, racist, trailer trash.
very well stated !!!
The Republicans used to claim the moral high ground. A reasonable point cannot follow from an unreasonable premise. A debate, is where each side offers their opinion in a back and forth discussion. Yelling, anything, is out of order and a violation of decorum. This is not a town hall meeting. When a youth or teenager does this, we tell them they are inmature. The Republicans don't seem to care anymore about morality, civility or manners. Just shout out your conviction, apologize and then ask for money. I would call that an immoral position and a regresson in thinking.
why is it that these bastards whose grandparents just go off of the boat from the OLD COUNTRY fell the need to be HYPER-AMERICANS ??? and were his cousins back in germany or austria NAZIS ??? now they knew a thing or two about murder !!!
Typical. Another white male who is completely ignorant and yet thinks it's his right to tell others what to do with their body.
Notice that it is mostly white males who rant and rave about abortion. The dominant white male patriarchy gets really upset whenever someone tries to do something they don't like, i.e., something that shifts power and authority from them to individuals. (How ironic, though, that the pro-gun folks think their stance is OK--it's an individual's right to have a gun--but they think a woman's right to choose is not OK. Go figure.)
dear pw
I agree with you !!! abortion is the law of the land and the decision to have one is between the patient and the doctor !!! it is no one else's business as far as I'm concerned !!! what do you think white males would say if their wives were given the authority to make them have a VASECTOMY ??? my guess is that they would say "HELL NO""
Also curious is the Right's reaction to the choices provided by health care: "It's my body!".
The Right/Republicans are getting more pathetic by the day!
While I am pro choice I am really confused about why people (Teabaggers/RNC/etc.) who don't want any deficit want people to have unwanted/unable to take care of them babies?
They don't want to fund:
but they want you (unwed poor mother) to have babies or no sex (remember rape and incest is no reason to get an abortion).
No wonder they are crazy this doesn't make any sense.
the reason is simple DUPLICITY !!!
They do not want Obama to succeed at anything. They have completely sold their souls for contradicting principles. On one hand they will vilify a welfare mother because she is depending upon society to pay the costs of her children. Meanwhile, the uninsured who depend upon society to pay for their medical bills are freedom fighters.
I agree.
The GOP and republicans have a sick mind, it is either their way or the high way. It is time for the American people to tell them "it is our way" and he can go back to Texas. It makes no sense for these grown men who is suppose to be looking after our well being but is only looking our for their votes. It is terrible how this group of men are ruining our country, this is why there should be term limits, to get rid of all those who only care about the money. Those who be disrespected and yell out should pay a fine, a hefty one just because they think they are so smart; and if they apologize, it should be nationwide and they pay for it. The average American has to pay fines or go to jail, why should there be different strokes for different folks. Biden did not yell what he said out nor was he trying to be disrespectful, but the others did not care. They thought what they did and said was cute.
Throwing out the baby with the bathwater never works.
What we need are caps on campaign spending for anyone who runs for any office.
