I am a breast cancer survivor of 17 years. I consider myself very blessed. Not only have I enjoyed those extra years but I have a very healthy son who is now 15. I was 35 years old when diagnosed and went through a lumpectomy, chemo and radiation treatments. I had 3 other children and wasn't planning to have any more. I was told the chemo would probably make me sterile and I also went into early menopause. Surprise, surprise I got pregnant 2 months after the chemo stopped, even while using birth control. I wasn't very excited at the time but thankfully God knew what a joy this miracle child would bring into my life. My 3 older children had dark hair, brown eyes and olive skin tones. My new son came out blonde, blue eyed and very pale. I tell everyone I paid extra for him :-)
