Nearly one in three smokers worldwide lights up in China, where cigarettes - commonly given as gifts - are so tightly woven into the culture, some believe it's an impossible habit to kick. But a new report suggests the keys to quitting lie in the country's own backyard.
Could Hong Kong teach China to quit smoking?

China hates Hong Kong and is doing everything it can to destroy what Hong Kong stands for. China is NOT interested in listening to anything Hong Kong has to say.
Wrong, China loves Hong Kong and therefore allow HK to operate independently under one country two systems which allows HK to flourish better than under British rule. The current policy of allowing mainland tourists to visit HK has revived HK economy which was curtailed under world economy crisis. The majority of HK citizen welcome China as motherland, only a handful of diehard elements who oppose anything China do and preferf HK to be governed by British. These people have slave mentality.
When I was in China 10 years ago, the people of China that I spoke too did not approve of Hong Kong. Hate my be a strong word but 10 years ago I heard disapproval. I have no idea what it's like now but I applaud any effort to end the rule of smoking.
keep them puffing, its a good thing for us.
Here's an opportunity! If smoking is bad for you (and we all know it is) why not ship American tobacco products to China, instead of tempting American kids to start smoking? The tobacco industry could go back to cultivating the ultra-addictive tobacco for the Chinese market, hooking them on a product thay would have to import from US sources, then the supply could be cut off every time China didn't want to cooperate with the UN Security Council.
