I developed mild food allergies to corn and soy. These 2 ingredients are added to all processed foods. Just try and buy bread without either. Its forced me to eat real food. I'm better now and much healthier.
This is a really good story. I've suspected that my fatigue is due to allergies. I've tried Zyrtec and it does seem to help. I should try looking at food allergies, or try different allergy meds. But anyway if anyone else is interested by this story, I think it has some merit. Just SOME merit. There are of course many things to consider.
I have been living with allergies for too long. I have tried every remedy under the sun. Spring is the worst for me. Yes, I have aches and pains, headaches, am tired and want to sleep most of the day. It is not fun, and yes, allergies are an auto-immune deficiency in your system. Still, I will take this over diabetes or any other condition that ruins the quality of your life.
When you cut out the foods listed to deal with allergies, what can you eat? Seriously. I'd like to attempt this because I have constant sinus congestion and headaches. But I don't know what I would possibly eat!
If you have health insurance, try seeing an allergist and narrowing down your allergies. The foods listed were the common ones, but not everyone is allergic to all of these--it is usually 1 or 2 of these.
William, for me it's monosodium glutamate which is MSG.MSG is in most packaged foods. It is used as a flavor enhancer but is actually a salt derivitive.Christina's advice is right.See an allergist becasue you may have a pollen, animal dander or mold allergy.Run an air purifier in your bedroom when you sleep and see if that helps.
This article is in the context of pollen allergies, but more people should be seriously looking at food allergies, particularly chemical allergies. I had horrible headaches and body aches for about a year, and a friend suggested looking into chemical allergies, particularly the red dye 40. Sure enough, I stopped consuming anything with red dye 40, and I feel so much better. No more debilitating headaches and bodyaches.
A side effect is that I am eating less junk food. No Skittles, jelly beans, etc., but also much of the processed food has these dyes. Why do canned cherries need red dye 40? The same reason they "need" HFCS. I am eating real food now, because most processed food sets my body into a tailspin.
It's just something to think about and maybe investigate if whatever your doctor suggests isn't working.
Starting in my early teens, I used to have terrible allergies to pollen, perfumes, mold and cats. I would sneeze my head off and my eyes would itch so bad I couldn't stand it. In my mid-20's I developed some kind of exteme chronic fatigue and my allergies became almost unbearable. I completely gave up all dairy and eggs and am now completely free of all symptoms. If I get a little dairy, I always know it the next day because my eyes start to itch and my nose runs a little. Well worth it- give it a try, but longer than 5 days.
This article makes sense.I don't sleep well when allergy season arrives.Which for me is spring and winter.Winter due to the mold from the pines trees.Spring from all blooming trees.I have been tested for allergies and the number one for me are cats and all trees.I take an allergy pill like Claritin,Benedryl or Zyrtec during these two seasons and also when going to a home that has cats.Using an air purifier in your bedroom also helps keep you sleeping much more soundly.AS far as food alergies goes,it's process of elimination.Keep a diary of what you have eaten everytime you get headaches or stomach upsets.I cannot eat anything with MSG in it as I get a headache and upset stomach. My sister can't eat a couple of dyes that are used to color foods.
I've had chronic allergies to spring pollen for 50 years. I've used pills and prescription steroid nasal sprays; they both worked a bit, but the steroid nasal spray caused me to lose my sense of taste while I was using the spray.
I quit using the pills and sprays a couple years ago when my doctor asked me to try sinus irrigation with salty water. I bought a "sinus rinse" plastic bottle at the pharmacy and packets of pH balanced salt; I fill the bottle with warm water, add the salt, shake, then I lean over the bathtub, and squirt the solution up into my sinus. It washes away the pollen and other gunk. I now rinse my sinus twice a day and my allergies have not returned, although after a long bike ride I need to rinse again because I breathe in all that pollen while biking. You can make your own salt solution with one cc of sea salt and one cc of baking soda in 8 ounces of water.
The salty sinus rinse works much better than the pharmaceuticals.
I also read recently that all those fragrant products like Bounce and Febreze are full of toxic chemicals that are causing many health problems, especially a lowered resistance to many things including pollen, consequently more people are suffering from allergies now.
Speaking of soy and other foods or additives. First of all I hope you are familiar with GM or better known as geneticall modified foods which are chemicals in our food production by the big corporations money hungry in producing these posions to feed a starving world, yeah right. Look at dvd for the "The Future of Food", "King Corn", and "Sweet Misery A Posioned World", very educational on these altered foods, sodas and soforth. Another mind blower you will want to see "Chemtrails The Story No One Is Telling", this may be why you are tired and sniffeling all the time, these are not normal contrails in the sky and the air we breath! One more dvd to mention is "Holes In Heaven" Advances In Nikola Tesla Technology could be one one more major problem in our health as it explains in itself what is going on constantly around us in the magnetic field we are subjected to. I believe these work hand in hand with the Chemtrails. So called big brother says chemtrails don't exist, of course neither did Agent Orange in Viet Nam, or "Operation Popeye" in seeding clouds modifying the weather. Good Luck and health.
Allergies? Gee, do ya think maybe some of the depression is linked to 24-7 news of this mucked-up government out of control? Allergies my a##.

I hope I don't have any of these allergies. This story is so depressing though, I think I'm gonna go take a nap...
