Yes, she should be allowed to see her kids but, more importantly, I think the kids should be allowed to see HER -- because at this age, they will get used to seeing and knowing their mother is like this. If they don't see her until they are older, THAT'S when it will traumatize them. If they go when they are little, they will go with pure hearts and accept their mother as she is. The father should have brought the kids there a long time ago, maybe when they were two, when they were really innocent and it wouldn't bother them. ALSO: that father deserves NONE of the money from the settlement. He abandoned her with divorce. She needs all the money for her care.

You should also post a question as to whether the husband should receive child support from the funds that will take care of her the rest of her life. What a selfish man.

I think in general kids are pretty open minded and because of that they'd be just fine. If the concern is how this will effect the children then perhaps dad can accompany them the first few times until it's clear the kids are ok. And at this point, it's not even necessary to tell these kids why their mother is the way she is. Common sense people!!

When the kids are old enough to understand what happened to their mother, then they should visit. 3 year olds cannot understand malpractice. They only understand mommy doesn't move or talk. The kids will want to know why.

Of course she should be allowed. What a double tragedy for both this woman and her family! And this man? He calls himself a father? How can he deprive his children their mother? Children love unconditionally......what a selfish person to do this and wants child support to boot? He needs a boot......out the door......any judge that votes against the mother needs a boot too. This is very sad, These children need to know their mother. It is not the mother's fault this happened to her while giving birth. It is very selfish of this man, to divorce her when she needs him the most and also take her children away. He should be ashamed.

The mother should have visitation rights

As a grandparent, I find it wrong that grandparents don't have visitation rights. Custodial rights is a different matter, and the father should get to decide what school the kids go to etc. However, in my opinion, grandparents offer children a quality of life that one can only understand who has grown up without that contact. It is child abuse to deny children contact with loving grandparents. This POS should have these babies taken away for that alone. As for the absolute greed he is showing by demanding child support from his wife's care fund, what kind of trauma will that cause his children if their mother dies because their father took money from her. What a piece of work he is. Shame on him.

Yes, the mother has a right to see her children. How in the world could the father ask for spousal support? He said himself that the mother was in a "vegetative state"! She is unable to work and it wasn't her fault she ended up paralyzed. As the reader above stated, this just goes to show how little class this man has.

What has the idiot father been telling the kids when they ask about their mother? That she is dead or doesn't want to see them? They need to see her and know that she loves them and didn't abandon them. I can't express how much I hope he doesn't get a penny of support money from the settlement. Any of that money should only be spent on the mother's medical expenses and by her parents to cover their expenses involved with her care. Kudos to them for keeping her at home with them instead of putting her in a nursing home. The father was such an a** to divorce her and now wants money from her? What a LOSER!! He shouldn't even be raising the kids - let the grandparents who know how to love children and not use them. If the money is used for anything besides medical care, it should go into a trust fund for the children for college or until they turn 25. He sounds like a perfect match for Kate G., both will do anything for a fast buck without working for it.
