find out what the 'good' teachers are doing....mass reproduce it...and let that be the standard
Teaching kids who are being raised by good parents.
That genetics impacts cognitive development and achievement has been understood by all but the education establishment and the liberal press since the time of Binet. That is why the teachers in the trenches (the schoolrooms) are opposed to achievement based pay; as they cannot control the nature of the product given to them to train. That is why Head Start, No Child Left Behind or Race to the Top are constructs of politicians with no clue who are pandering to the electorate with other peoples money and have no chance at success. In a hetrogeneous enironment rather then lament the differences in the scholastic abilities of our children we should celebrate the diversity which produces great atheletes, entertainers, artists and yes scholars.
