!!!! I have a fraternal twin (both males, not test tube) and have always been told a story by my parents about how the doctors where bewildered that we shared a placenta and turned out fraternal. They thought we were identical until they realized we don't share a blood type. We were born in 1991, I obviously cannot verify this since I was being born but I don't see any reason that would be made up, and records of it could possibly still exist. If any expert happens to read this and would like to know more please contact me at matt_2162@yahoo.com or on aim at chlln1591, as I would love to learn more about this/investigate it further. I registered to news vine just to post this as it sounds like if this is the case me and my brother would be a very rare occurrence, especially since we weren't test tube.
I once took a delivery of such and i have been following the growth and development of both fraternal twins. From my observation so far, the growth and development of one is impair in comparison with the other.
i have fraternal boy and girl twins,my doctor was also very puzzled, because their placentas had fused together as one, both were over 5 pounds and 5 weeks premature, both perfectly healthy, they were supposed to send the placenta off for testing but i never heard anything back, just wonder does it make a difference? they share characteristics but they do not look identical
