A New York animal shelter is seeking donations of Viagra to treat a pit bull with a heart condition. Staff members at the Little Shelter Animal Rescue and Adoption Center in Huntington, on Long Island, say 6-year-old Ingrid needs two of the little blue pills every day or she will risk heart failure. They said a vet suggested it.

Poor baby!!! I hope she gets the medication, and finds a good home.
If this story was about a golden retriever, a former seeing eye who now makes the elderly feel good during visiting hours at nyursing homes, we would all sat "Aaaah" and chip in for lifetime supply of pills for the pooch. Should the outcome be any different for pit bulls? I think this is breed profiling of the worst possible kind. PS. I have no dog in this hunt. We are cat people.
Loves Animals..have worked with them 45+ years...HOWEVER..this Dog is UP for ADOPTION...& is 6 years old & Heart Disease is from Heartworm Disease...Now...who is going to Adopt the Medical Condition having to invest this monthly...& This breed has life expectancy 8-10 years...
This is Definately example of OUT-of-Balance with NATURAL ORDER! But so is the rest of the Mentality of the Population who are *foreigners* ruling this Native Homeland!!!!!!!!
& to the Lady who suspected dear hubby having an Affair..why not donate HIM to the local *dog fights as a yummy morsel* lol
I am going to assume Ingrid is a bitch, so the problem may not, so to speak come up. But if this thend catches on, would people donating pills also donate a paw watch so that male recipients of your generosity can keep track of the four hours, in case they need to call their vet.
Are we so politically correct these days that we can't refer to a female dog properly. I mean I even heard the b word over the airwaves during doverage of the Westminster Kennel Club show a few months ago. Botch, botch, botch, botch, bitch, botch botch. Let's see if we can fool the computer.
Im wondering if this poor dog is even sick at all, mabye its the men working there that are needing the pills and saying its for the dog, humans are stupid that way.
