To get protection from the sun's damaging rays, you won't have to dig deep in your wallet this summer. One of the most effective sunscreens on store shelves is also one of the least expensive, according to a new Consumer Reports study.

what do you do when allegy to the sun?? Then what spend you life inside like I am doing now
How young is too young for use of sunscreen? I have a 3 month old daughter and have been given mixed opinions about using sunscreen on her.
From my understanding, never use sunscreen on a baby until they are 6 months and older. They are not even supposed to be in the sun until they are 6 months old because before that age, their skin is so thin - sun exposure is dangerous!
Helpful information, but they neglected to tell you how toxic these sunscreens are! Any sunscreen that is not from a "natural" standpoint has extremely toxic chemicals in it that are being absorbed into your bloodstream. Like the ingredient "oxybenzone" - this is pretty much in every sunscreen you will find. But on a scale of 1 - 10 (with 10 being the most hazardous), it's a 9! Check out EWG (Environmental Working Group)website, they have a database called "Skin Deep" that has a "safe sunscreen guide". Most natural sunscreens will contain Zinc or Titanium Dioxide which acts a barrier on the skin, but never soaks into your bloodstream. And yes, they do work!
Karen- I was just going to write about that as well! So horrible that consumer reports doesn't actually ever speak of all the chemicals and what they do to us! For kids, this year I have been using think baby, love it! More $$, but well worth, can only order online. Otherwise at Target California Baby, you don't have to reapply as much as the other sunblocks either, so that helps offset the costs! http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/index.php
After watching the show, I purchased the sunscreen from Walgreens. I run 10 miles every day in the Houston heat. The sunscreen stained the collars of all of my running shirts. Thanks Today show for another quality recommendation.
