Agreed with everything in this article! What the author fails to mention is that Weston Price discovered that saturated fat was part of a healthy diet for the Masai (and many other indigenous groups around the world) in the 1930s.
Worrisome is that this will cause Americans specifically to ignore the fact that a sedentary lifestyle mixed with high fat intake is extremely dangerous for the heart.
The difference in these two cultures does not have to do as much with the nutrition as it has to do with the activity level. I wonder how much effect activity levels will change this. How many times do we see people from another country such as Asia or even Mexico and become much larger due to a 'Western lifestyle".
Activity, being outdoors, etc affects our body immensely and while I'm encouraged that perhaps saturated fat isn't as bad as it is made out to be, I'm reminded that we should continually strive to spend a hour a day doing physical activity outside of our ADLs.
Very informative article and very interesting facts about the history of the saturated fat hypothesis, thanks for this, this has completely led me in a new direction.
