A New Jersey woman is waging a campaign to become the world's heaviest living woman, admitting that she is as hungry for attention as she is for calorie-rich food. Donna Simpson, 42, weighs more than 600 pounds and aims to reach 1,000 pounds.
Woman wants to be world's fattest

This is truly sad..why would she want to do this to herself? And, most importantly, why would she want to do this to her children? How will she be able to play with them, or go to any of their activities? Plus, you know how mean kids can be...her children will probably be teased endlessly by their classmates. And, please don't misunderstand me..I am not a "skinny mini" by any means; however, I do recognize that it is important to try to eat healthy and to maintain a healthy weight (even if I do struggle with that extra 20 pounds or so); not only for myself, but for my children. My children, as well as hers, deserve a mom that can spend quality time with them, and to be around for most of their lives, not die an early death caused by all of the health problems that severe obesity brings. I just don't understand her at all.
I spent the other afternoon watching some channel where animals had been abandoned and neglected and had to be rushed to the clinic. I was almost in tears. The struggles of another person's weight challenge would likely do the same. But this woman's quest is beyond disgusting and sad. The goal of gaining as much weight as possible is the same as assigning yourself a death sentence. To say that you don't want to go through the same struggles as someone else did in an effort to lose weight is fine. To decide you want to go "whole hog" is selfish and self-serving. When that person dies, all I will remember is my disgust and my sadness that this woman had no self-worth.
No, you're not.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but rolls aren't curves, you tubbophiliac.
I have to wonder if this is the other extreme in the relationship between body image and keeping a love interest. If this woman suddenly dropped 500 lbs, would her tubbophiliac boyfriend stick around? I think he has some mental issues himself. There's nothing wrong with being big, but this is grotesque and irresponsible behavior on both their part.
Take this story off all websites! She just wants attention by eating herself to death and every site that posts this story is enabling this! Ridiculous!
This is the most selfish ridiculous and irresponsible thing I've ever heard of. She should be refused any medical care whatsoever and her children should be removed from her custody. Hopefully, she'll drop dead long before she reaches her goal.
What Ms. Simpson is doing is irresponsible and reprehensible. It is one thing to be 600 lbs and be fine with your body. She is happy with her "curves", seems satisfied, and has a family. But it is another to want to almost double your weight for the fun of it and deem that being extremely large is healthy and should be acceptable. If she can "barely walk 20 feet and struggles with showering" at 600 lbs, what will happen at 1,000? She should be denied medical care as this will likely prove to be a very expensive medical folly if it does not cost her her life.
There is nothing wrong with embracing your body, no matter your size, but the important thing is that the person is active and healthy. I am a larger woman (60 lbs overweight), but I have no health problems and am training for a half marathon. If my weight drops with the exercise, fine, if not I will at least continue to improve my health.
And who will be paying for her removal from her home when she gets sick and can not fit in a car to be driven to a hospital??????
I have agree that this lady is reacting in a selfish and irresponsible manner. Publicizing her is just enabling her madness. What is worse is the effect on her children. Does she care about them? obviously not. I am sorry that they have to watch her public suicide.
what an ass!!!
Lets see.......
If she reaches her goal of a thousand pounds and her boyfriend pimps her "curvy" body out, he can say she is a 1/2 ton pickup.
