Reality shows such as "American Idol" and "Apprentice" have almost no physical violence, but a new study suggests their rampant displays of name-calling and snarky gossiping still make for a much meaner TV-viewing experience compared with watching fictional TV shows.
Reality TV proves meaner than fiction

I disagree with the idea that watching something like "The Apprentice" is more likely to cause more violence in viewers. I know it is just a "show" that is more scripted than it appears to be. It is sooooooo make-believe that it is funny to me.
I think that the video games and the R rated shows that come on early enough for children to see them increases the possibility of violence in children and adults.
How can this study even be considered accurate without the inclusion of "Survivor"? Was the study done during a time when the show was not airing? I mean, if you are serious about connecting reality shows to behavior, Survivor would HAVE to be in the mix.
