^^Talk of women that are just out to get pregnant are NOT just horror stories, and men taking this pill only because their spouse or gf "Made them" is just funny, women use birth control as a choice to prevent harder choices, men should have the same option, especially when in most parts of the country the court systems are geared toward he woman, it is easy enough for a woman to get pregnant on purpose and leave a guy just so she has the baby she always wanted and a reliable income from the combined Child Support and Welfare (Food Stamps WIC etc) to be a man in the united states and try to fight for custody of your child is the most futile, depressing, and expensive ordeal you can imagine, I would rather be a woman and get raped daily for the rest of my life than go through it all again. Get the Pill on the Market, I will be buying a lifetime supply, when and who I have a child with is my choice.
Yes go ahead (Then don't have sex!) right? Ever try telling that to a woman that is considering birth control? Ask them why they don't just use a condom? have fun
Yeah the dude exagerated a little bit but I personally know about 10 men that have been in the same exact situation that he is talking about and have gotten completly slammed by the court after they have went to laywer after lawyer that laughed at them for wanting to get custody over a woman in the state of Indiana. The courts lean towards women. But what if it never got that far and both parties have an option t be more responsible. If if you even argue "well men have condoms" you are sstupid and should be hit with one fille with quaters.
Or you could be like me a date a guy who leaves you to be a single mom. Grow up. Many women's futures have been ruined, do you think every woman wants to have kids? Some women want to travel, go to college, and get there dream job. There needs to be a male birth control because men need to take it to! Not because it will give them "control". For 40 years women have had to make a decision to take a hormone that isn't meant to be in there body and suffer side effects as bad as breast cancer, or get pregnant eventually. The only reason male birth control isn't avaliable yet isn't funding, because if you think about it, who funded for women's birth control and still does? Why is funding for male birth control research so expensive compared to women's. Once male birth control is avaliable it won't be the woman's fault that she got pregnant, because she missed a dose or her birth control failed and gets stuck with the bill if she picked a loser, it will be on the man to since he decided not to take a contraceptive as well.
I agree with you (on most of what you said)...but until the male birth control is out...make sure the person your sleeping with is NOT on the pill and instead insist she is on
A) the arm implant birth control...why, you can verify it's there by feeling her arm and you don't have to worry about her "forgetting" to take the pill, or
B)if she is able to then and IUD because you can also tell if that's there just by feeling for the plastic string inside her. Then you "KNOW" at least she is on BC and you won't get duped. Good luck guys in this new wave of sexual revolution.
I mostly just like how the guy in the article actually says "nefarious." Women are cruising around with nefarious plans, guys! Step lightly!
No but really...I know it does happen. Some women are scandalous that way. Just like some men knock women up and then ditch them. I've also known men who've tried to get a girl pregnant just so she wouldn't leave him. I think we can leave it at "people are scuzzy, and do scuzzy things to each other."
Sure, some women probably try to get get pregnant on purpose. But I think men CLAIMING that is much more common. Keep in mind that less than half the men who legally owe child support actually pay it. Only very naive women would see child support as a reliable source of income.
Ashley, I'm curious how it was him that left you a single mother? Did you have no say in the conception, the choice not to abort and the choice not to adopt or abandon? All women have these options, and those options can not be denied to them based on the guys wishes, therefore no woman is ever forced to give up their desire to travel, go to college, and get there dream job, unless they do so of their OWN choice. What you are describing is NOT the same thing that men endure without their own contraception. Did your boyfriend who left you as a single mother, did he even want to become a father, or was that your choice, and yours alone?
@Catgirl. FYI, what you describe would be considered "controlling" behaviour and would set a man up for domestic abuse allegations.
@Xan's Mom I largely agree, except that women have more legal protections against those skeezy people, and women who ARE those skeezy people can actually get more government sponsored enforcement to support their skeezy behaviour.
@Dennis sure, this is more a problem of bad men than bad women, right. can never say women do bad things, only men can do bad things. Women have complete control over reproduction, and men have none. That control gives women a great deal of power. Do you really think, in combination with women's natural drive to have children, combined with feminists telling them they can put it off longer and longer, plus government backing for whatever they choose to do, that some, many, will abuse that power? Ever consider that all those men "CLAIMING" this might actually be telling the truth? ever consider that, maybe, the reason half of child support obligers don't pay (not that this is accurate) is because they never agreed to be fathers in the first place?
@kratch - "ever consider that, maybe, the reason half of child support obligers don't pay (not that this is accurate) is because they never agreed to be fathers in the first place?" you really think that accounts for ALL of them? My son is a pill baby. NO contraception is 100%. I never "agreed" to be a mother, either, but sometimes stuff happens. Both my son's father and I are in his life, and it's like squeezing blood from a stone to get child support from him. I'm not saying that there aren't women who "trap" men, because there certainly are, but you're making it out to be far worse than it really is. Women do not have complete control.
This is the greatest idea to come along in years. I too have fell victim to the "I stopped taking my birth control to get pregnant without telling you" situation. I know there are thousands of men out there with the same experience. Not only for that reason but shouldnt a man have the same choice as a woman when it comes to conception? Does anyone else realize the reduction in abortions we could have with this medicene? I cant believe its taken this long and there is has been a "lack of fundung". The doctors developing this product have my and millions of other mens support on this.
I have assumed these products would eventually be available, look at my list of domains (also have a lot of related information on the page) http://www.malebirthcontrol.info/
i would love for this to become available. i take birthcontrol already but we still use condoms as a back up "just in case" if he could take some other sort of birthcontrol that would be wonderful.!!!!! kudos to whomever is taking on this project
This would be great. For men not to have to rely on a woman's word that she is on contraceptives will be a saving grace. I believe the company that develops this pill will find itself with unmentionable riches. Once men realize that they won't be subject to or susceptible of being set up for "fatherhood" unwillingly anymore by using a simple pill or shot, will be a dream come true for men. It will shut down the "I'll get pregnant so he'll have to marry me" scam once and for all. If anyone should be against this it should be woman. Their scam will soon be a thing of the past.
I totally agree too many men get pulled into unwanted fatherhood .I have two teen age sons and would definately get it for them. Too many mothers who don't protect their daughters,(even after discussion) choose to leave them unprotected. In my eyes this is the answer to teen pregnancy and fathers whose lives get ruined because a women makes a one sided decision
A few years ago, I saw an srticle in GQ magazine where it's been estimated that there are about 2 million men in this country that are raising---unknowingly--- children that their wives/girlfriends conceived through an affair. Both the medical and the legal system will throw a man under the bus "for the sake of the child" in this situation...that is, he'll likely be on the hook financially for this child even if he finds out the truth.
IMO, it'd be a good thing for men to have access to a birth control method that is more reliable than condoms. And to lighten things up a bit, there's a story in the Odd News section of the 'Vine about a male birth control method that involves zapping a man's testicles with ultrasound.
Personally, I'd rather have a shot, or take a pill, than have my junk blasted with radiation...
Dude...if you don't want kids...wear a condom. we know men think they are great and all...but sometimes women get pregnant and actually don't believe in abortion. deal with it or wrap it up!
a woman doesn't get pregnant, she chooses to get pregnant. There is a huge diffrence!
I a woman doesn't what to have a child, then she chooses not to have one by several diffrent means (both prior to and after the sexual act). Imagine she made a mistake and choose a man with no money, bad geans and in her opinion not a sutable father.... guess what she wouldn't "get pregnant", cause she realizes that it's a bad deal.
It's funny that duing economical downturns like the one were facing in out ecomony, women realizes that this is Not the time to have children. The national birthrate is down, birth control sales are at an all time high as well as abortions, so please don't try to excuse away a bad behaviour of certain woman by mearly saying, "she didn't mean to get pregnant" or "it just happens", that is simply not true!
2nd, depending on what statistics you are to look at, condoms when used correctly are only 93 to 97% effective and there is no legislation that provides a man legal recourse to a broken condom. I could only imagine the uproar from the feminist groups if men were ever granted the right to pay zero for an unwanted birth.
3rd and most important. Children are always the victims in these situation, they will always pay for the choices for the adults. So it only makes sense that women should choose thier ideal future partners and fathers to their children wisely. This is not a game, children should never suffer the consequences of an irrational parent!, Just because women have the right to choose, shouldn't mean you can choose poorly and then make someone else responsible for that choice. |No rational person would ever force someone into a business relationship, we all know what the outcome would be, so why take it upon yourself to be selfish and give birth to a child under the same circumstances. How do you think the child will feel, growing up knowing Daddy didn't want them (invariably mommy never really tells the truth that she forced him into such a situation)
For the most part a man will chose and take full responsibility of fatherhood when hers ready, given the choice and certainly not tricked into having a child. t is not the responsibility for women to "make him step up to the plate" or "force him to grow up" or any other stupid rhetoric. If your man isn't ready, or doesn't want..... simply move on, but please don't make the child suffer cause you want to prove a point.
(spelling shouldn't affect the validity of the point, but so often people disregard the author of being uneducated or unknowledgeable or unworthy of a fair point of view, so I've re-posted)

Response to the guy below...even without a name you can smell the egotism of a male. Ummmm noooo Britian is going through a recession right now, and a baby boom. When a man and a woman don't have money and are sitting at home guess what they are doing??? Hence babies. If you don't want kids then don't have sex, that goes for women to...but we have birth control so HA!
Sorry Ashley...but you're very ignorant If you don't realize that men are REGULARLY being taken advantage of by selfish women and being duped into fatherhood. You OBVIOUSLY haven't done ANY research in the area. It's totally illegal when sex is not consensual but I find it appalling that it is not also illegal for non consensual conception. Women have birth control and LOADS of other means to NOT become pregnant including their right to "CHOOSE" (and a man has no option to stop the women even though it is his child) therefore with such resources at a woman's finger tips it should be illegal if they conceive with out consent from a guy. I really think the feminist movement has gone too far and give women far more freedom to basically become selfish controlling bitches without any regard or responsibility. Another case of "Positive discrimination" to make the world seem "more fair" when honestly I feel sorry for guys out there be cause they do get the raw end of the deal due to scheming scandalous bitches.
You are a single mom and complaining about how your boyfriend left you...Yet in your above comment you say " but we have birth control so HA!" So use it!!! If you had used it, in ALL the forms it is available to you, YOU wouldn't be a single mom.
My first pregnancy was unintentional. I was on birth control. I took it every night at the same time (had a timer set for it ) and always carried it with me so I was never without it. I STILL ended up pregnant. I think the male birth control pill is a great idea. Not because I think women are out to get men, I don't doubt it happens, but it's not that way in all cases, but because I feel it will give added protection. I have been through many forms of the pill, the implanon (implant in the arm), and the nuvaring all with problems or complications that has caused the dr to say they are a no go. Can't use a diaphragm because of a latex allergy and can't do IUD's because of metal allergies and clotting disorders. This pill is a dream come true for my husband and I. We were engaged and married after that first pregnancy. We have 4 children and one on the way. He wants this pill so he doesn't have to get fixed and we can consider one more in 5 or 6 years. Because of my clotting disorder and anemia issues the dr's refuse to do any surgery on me that is not for a reason other than to save my life. I think the responsibility should be taken on by both parties not just one. I've tried everything I can to hold up my part, but this will give the guys the opportunity to have some say so too. Please guys, don't think that women are out to get you. The good ones aren't like that. I wish this pill was coming out sooner or that there was a trial for our area.
This pill is great, but not as a way to foil all of us evil, scheming women.
If a man is THAT worried about being a father, he needs to keep it in his pants and not have sex. Because yes, accidents happen even when a woman is on the pill. It's not 100%, nothing but refraining from sex is.
So guys, if you're sleeping with a woman you're making a CHOICE to risk a pregnancy--which means you aren't victims of chance, or a woman's scheming. You're victims of your own choices.
The arguments by guys reporting to have been tricked by women are mostly just men who want to get laid without having to be responsible for anything but the cost of dinner. They want to believe that if the woman gets pregnant it's her fault alone, completely ignoring the fact that for it to happen, he had to be a participant.
What this pill will do is not liberate men from scheming females, but rather create a much needed sense of shared responsibility regarding conception. Which is apparently very important, considering up until now it's always been "the woman's fault".
Buy a clue though, guys. Even if you're taking the pill, if some accident occures (and if it happens to us it will happen to you) you're still responsible for the fact that you're engaging in sex. Anything that comes of that sex is something you're responsible for, even if you're on the man-pill.
There should be more options for men; not everyone likes and uses a condom. I think this has the possibility to decrease unwanted pregnancies but the potential for an increase in STD's needs to then be considered.
I think the male pill is an awesome idea. My wife cant take the pill and we both hate condoms. The few othetr methods out there are really not her thing either and I feel that I can't do a damn thing about it. This makes another possibility that I think would take off like crazy expecially in the married sector of relationships. Imagine women getting off the pill getting their sex drive back and not having to worry about pregnancy. Who wouldnt be for that.
Men never mostly never have to worry about anything. I mean women have there period, babies, and they have to worry about the birth control too. What I'm getting at is women always have to be more responsible then men. I think its time for men to FINALLY step up and take some responsibility. They shouldn't get off easy with everything. And for those men who got "trapped" it was there own fault, because they weren't being responsible and taking extra repercussions. So this is a fantastic idea.
men have nothing to worry about, what about being made a parent wether you want a child or not,or being treated like a second class citizen with one right to be extorted from by women and state.then denied the basic rights parents should have.
Oh goodness she chose the wrong word. First of all, a man can not be MADE to be a parent or not. He can be MADE to pay child support but not raise it...the court isn't shoving a man in the woman's home and saying you have to raise the baby they are telling the man that it takes two and the child needs health insurance, a trust fund, money for its future and to help the mom with daycare (90$ a week), food, clothes....I mean do you honestly think WIC and Wellfare pays for everything. They might help but how is the woman saving money for her child's first car or college. And with the way the economy is going those services will be obsolete or harder to even get. Many men will not take birth control because of the side effects, they'd rather the women deal with it right? I guess we are all just hear to have babies and deteriorate into dust after we raise them. Print your comment and hand it to your mom and see what she thinks. Saying women trap and get pregnant on purpose is insulting even if SOME women do it, but those women they do that, are kinda easy to spot if you have an IQ over 90.
let me tell, you if a woman wants to get pregnant they will, they are the sceamingest ,deviuse creatures i have ever met,put little holes in your condums, catch you asleep.what ever it takes to get that controle over you.and seeings how men have vertually no rights whith regard to children,i think its time to change thart violentlly if necisary. But the states get a lot of money extorting fathers (men) in this stuation, and are not likelly to want equal protection under the law, thats why women and others, have tried to keep this low key.its a pretty good racket for women.Ill sighn up for the first 12 month dose.and then lets see how many lieing hows i can find.
I think this is long overdue...everyone, male and female, deserves to be in control of their fertility. Here's hoping it's safe and effective, and that Big Pharma is actually willing to push this (I can't tell you how many articles like this I've read, only to never hear about it again!)
Amen, sista! I can't believe how many nincompoops on this site are turning this into yet another girls-are-better-than-boys-no-boys-are-better-than-girls kindergarten schoolyard fight.
And you are right; this topic has been popping up for years: "Soon there will be a pill for men, blah-blah-blah-blah" and then it vanishes into the dust of collective forgetfulness.
I too am so sick of people arguing over who is better. We all have our ups and downs. A lot of the men are saying women have tricked them into getting them pregnant, I find this appalling! But this is coming from a woman who thinks pregnancy is a disease and has no desire for children ever. I'm sure if it had been men all along who were the ones with the option to take the pill, there would be men getting women pregnant without their consent. My point is, we all do horrible things, i'm so fed up of hearing the men vs women debate. Men, maybe you could be more cautious when it comes to making sure she is taking her pills, I know I would be if it was my man who was taking them.
Yes!This needs to come out asap. There are just to many children out there with dead beat dads and stupid mothers who tricked the dead beat, now there's a precious child made between to idiots"Murray" hello? It would definitely save some human beings from being screwed up in the head. Let me know where I can go or what I can do to support this male birth control funding . By the way Billy-2087378 learn how to spell first than cuss us (women ) out. With the language and disrespect you have for women I would pay for your birth control for life and whom ever you deal with. I don't ever see myself "TRAPPING" someone who is clearly uneducated so she needs to on birth control too. WOMEN make the world go 'round remember that Billy-2087378. lol smilely face
Iam a fourty year old man with four kids. It would be hard for me to have more kids because of my health. So I think its a good thing to have a pill for men.
I am a mother of two boys. I was pregnant at a young age,not to try to trap my husband but b/c we were young and dumb. I want to be able to have my boys on birth control, in case the girl they are with chooses not to be or their parents/religion do not allow. We both graduated from college but it was a long hard struggle that I don't want my children to go through. We've taught them about STD's and the importance of condom usage but I want them to be able to have options in pregnancy prevention, not only now but later in life as well.(My oldest is in college now)
Yea, Yea, Yea. Another dose of docility to feed to men - keep them hoping ! It 'aint gunna happen Why? because females don't want it to happen. For over 30 years this sort of junk has been published. Get real people - no one wants for males to be liberated - it doesn't pay to have them so. Keep your noses to the grindstone fellas - your'll be in paradise before you get the male pill.
I want men to have a birth control pill so badly!!!!!!! Oh, and I am a woman!! I think it should be a shared responsibility. Please don't generalize to all women, everyone is different.
I know this comment is bit late, 5 months after publication.
A male birth control pill will have an even greater social revolution than the female. It is about time and something entirely necessary. I want a choice too. I will be able to finally choose my life's destiny without a women tricking me or ramming her choices her life down my throat.
I personally believe there are no "accidental" pregnancies. Women know when they are fertile. Maybe there is some gray area on the fringes of the time of ovulation, but she generally knows when it is. All she needs to say to me is "Baby, I could be fertile" and I would never have intercourse. I have been in situations where the woman tried, deliberately to entrap me. I was 48 and needed an ED pill for an erection capable of orgasm. She pushed me into taking the pill, asked me if I took it, climbed on top me then ground and ground with an almost fervor until I had orgasm. Then she asked, "You had that surgery didn't you. I am in my 14th day." She called and told me she was pregnant and needed money. I insisted on her seeing a doctor I choose because "My baby deserved the best in medical care". There was no pregnancy. It was all a setup.
A male pill would insure things like this never happen. Men will opt out of marriage in ever increasing numbers and will opt out of so many aspects of this current feminist dominated society. I already have and for the first time in my life, I am happy. I don't feel near the money pressure as when I was married or trying to be with American women. What money I do make, I have complete control over. Being married is financial suicide for 50% of men. After divorce, the women will take such a large percentage of your money that your life is corrupt until you die. Child support is the only debt that can put a man in jail.
Now with a pill, a man can escape this. Sure there are macho men that just want to spread genetics and leave offspring. But the vast majority of thinking, rational men will see this for what is, freedom and liberation from the chains that women place on men. Dads are already telling boys, "You stay away from those women" and this pill is insurance that they can't trick you and trip you up. Men will start keeping in their desks at work and taking them where there wives can't catch them. Women will look for some kind of counter test to detect if their man is taking the pill. Men will get the injections on the sly. Couples will break up over it. Men will learn to lie to the women, tell them they are interested in a serious relation and family and after 3 or 6 months, they will run.
And the women will not be able to sneak in a pregnancy to hook them and chain them down. Men will walk away from drudgery jobs because they don't have to stay at them. Take this job and shove it. Take this American life and shove it. I don't work for women no more. I do what I want and the women won't be able to a damn thing about it.
Get ready, the real revolution is coming. This will shake society up in manners that will make the previous feminist and sexual revolutions look like a ripple in comparison to the tsunami that a male birth control pill will bring.
Free at last. Thank God, free at last. Catch me if you can now, ladies.
Male birth control has been out for years. And they are fairly cheap too, the best brand is Trojans. Congratulations on "almost" creating a pill that is going to cause an STD epidemic. Its hard enough to get men to wear condoms when they REALLY should, so let's give them an even better reason to not wear them. I guess STD's arent plentiful yet, and orphanages arent full either.
If your sleeping around and not in a committed relationship then DUH wear a condom, but if your in a committed relationship why should men not have a choice to be condom free and still be in control of their fertility. There are female condoms out there too so the whole STD thing also will get put on the females shoulders.
I REALLY think you guys out there should really consider taking Male contraceptive...why, you are in control of your fertility, So many females will tell a guy she is on the pill and then "accidentally" forgot to take one and "accidentally" becomes pregnant. Unless you wear a condom everytime you can never really be sure your safe. You agree to consensual sex but consensual conception is easily taken away form you. You end up with no say and a good chunk of child support owed every month. You can read enough stories online of woman who think it is perfectly ok to get pregnant whether there partner wants to or not, why...because THEY want a baby...or THEY want to force the guy into the next step...Seriously...dudes out there beware.
I have never heard of women "trapping" men. I don't know a single woman in my age group (mid 20's) who wants children. We are doing as much as we can to prevent it.
Just because you don't know anyone who has done it or would ever consider doing it doesn't mean that no one does. My last gf tried to do it to me. She wanted to stop using condoms and for her to go on the pill. She told me she was taking them, but two months after i started buying it for her i found them unopened. She was trying to baby trap me. I can't say that it was exclusively for money; I think she thought that by her getting pregnant would force me into marrying her which I made clear to her in the beginning of our relationship was something I didn't want to do with her yet. If i had an option other than getting snipped or using a condom I definitely would have taken it. On the other side of this there are pretty obvious negatives. With men having an option for birth control that would leave his junk unprotected i could see STDs becoming a much bigger problem. So there is definitely a trade off for someone unattached having sex with multiple partners.
Same thing happened to me a number of times! Girls who said that they were on the pill and found condoms "unromantic". I always new where their pills were and when they would go to take a shower before bed, I checked to see if the pills were gone...seems they always end up not disappearing. I lived in such fear that I eventually had a vasectomy. Funny thing is that after I had the procedure done (not telling anyone of course), I had a relationship with a 31 year old paralegal that got missile lock on my house, career and Jag and who claimed that she was on the pill. We had a discussion about birth control and she assured me that if a mistake happened that she would of course have an abortion. Well she tried like hell to get pregnant (not knowing that I was shooting blanks) and in frustration sacked out with a country boy near Raleigh and announced to me one day that we needed to have a serious talk as she was sure she was pregnant (and she was). She said that we should get married and if I didn't see it that way, I would not see "my" child and would be stripped financially. I was somewhat concerned at first that perhaps the vasectomy was faulty and went to the Duke University Hopital to have it checked out...I was still shooting blanks. While mustering all the discipline I had to keep from smiling, I told her...ok...we will plan to get married but not until after the child was born as I didn't want to get married while she was showing. Forward 6 months at a hospital in Raleigh. I arrived to see the new booger with my best friend and attorney and delivered some papers to her for her reading pleasure. I told her she needed to find out who the father of this child was. I knew who the father was...a poor guy living in a trailer in the eastern suburbs of Raleigh. Fast forward to the present, I have been happily married for 12 years (after having the vasectomy successfully reversed) to an oriental women some 27 years younger than me, who is a highly regarded health professional in the area. Their is justice guys! Remember, when it comes to the orient...if you like their cars...you'll love their women!
What a wonderful obviously untrue story. You have a few inaccuracies in your story that you might want to check into. I don't want to tell you them myself so your betters can continue to laugh at you.
The ignorance and sexist attitudes in these comments are astounding. The line about the nefarious plans of women in the article isn't much better. It's 2011; why do we still have these mindsets that women are tawdry skanks who are just out to eat men up with their woman parts and steal all their money, and men are just the victims in everything they do? Sure, there are women out there who want babies and take the easy route to get them, but I know far more women who do *not* want to have children than I do women who have ever "tricked" a man into getting knocked up. Oddly enough, I know more men who are irresponsible with their fertility and have no problem going from relationship to relationship, lying to the women they're with and deciding to "start a family" with them, then leaving them holding the innocent baggage or getting kicked out of the house because their dishonesty or abusive behavior was discovered. Are they in the majority? No. Neither are the women who get pregnant by dishonest means, and I'm really tired of people insinuating that those are the only kind of people out there.
Should men be able to be proactive about their fertility? Absolutely. I'm glad that there will soon be options so men have options besides condoms (which suck for both parties) or vasectomies, which are only reversible using a costly procedure that is rarely covered by insurance. The fact is, female birth control isn't perfect, and the fail rate of condoms is higher than most people will admit. For those times when permanent options aren't desired, both parties can use birth control that suits them (provided they have access to it) and family planning truly can be a reality.
Those views happen because of so many real life examples of that happening. Honestly I have read more news stories of women abusing men, false rape accusations, and women using a child as a trap for child support.
I agree that this is needed though. When I turn 18 I would get this in a heart beat. Yes I am under the age of 18 and understand complex issues that affect the world. Problem?
yeah because the anecdotal stories (of women trapping men) you hear on or read in the news are representative statistics of real life. no.
intelligent women with aspirations of a great career are most likely NOT looking to trap men. somehow, i fail to see that the benefits (TRYING to get child support?? filling out tons of paperwork for gov benefits?? dealing with the loss of independence and personal freedom because you have the responsibility of a child???)
i think it was this article or another i read that suggested that birth control use is at its highest nowadays? if that is true (we should fact check!), does it really make sense to suggest there is an abundance of men-trapping women out there? at least, that was my impression from these comments.
i would like to thank ummmm-3051280 for pointing out the sexist caliber of some of these comments. i guess i am really not sure what the purpose is of demeaning either gender in support or opposition of male birth control. why can't we just say hurray, more choices for everyone.
male birth control=great idea. if we're concerned about an increase in the spreading of STIs (come on people, STDS is the OLD acronym) with this new birth control....let's use the saved funding from WIC and other benefits to help single mothers (this is me just making assumptions...) to promote regular STI screenings and education!
anyway, hurrah for science. i would like to see this pill out soon.
I was just talking about male birth control to my fiance, and I was wondering when someone was going to figure out the recipe to a male birth control. I think this is wonderful and going to save so many men from having unwanted pregnancy's. Looks like the shady woman out there who trick men into pregnancy will not have the upper hand anymore, GOOD! I have too many male friends who where taken advantage of and now are stuck with a woman and child they didn't want. So to all the men out there worried about this new method think about it, don't you want to be protected??
Ask them why they don't just use a condom? have fun
"I would rather be a woman and get raped daily for the rest of my life than go through it all again."
As a rape survivor, I somehow highly doubt this.
Unless you're a rape survivor you really don't know what you're talking about. My suggestion is pick another analogy.
Thank-you

"taking extra repercussions"
I think you meant to say precautions.
Put holes in condoms? LOL. serves you right for choosing a creative girlfriend. I hope you get hotflashes.
Considering, Billy, that you call women "lying Ho's", you kinda deserve to have your condom stabbed.
Only with you still in it.
DAMMIT, I WANT MY PILL NOW!
All i need to know is when will it be here and were can i get it.
What? What does that even mean? You are already liberated....
I want men to have a birth control pill so badly!!!!!!! Oh, and I am a woman!! I think it should be a shared responsibility. Please don't generalize to all women, everyone is different.
Liberated in this case means that we control our fertility whether the female agrees to it or not.
I can take the pill and not even mention it. It's my body, thus soley my choice.
on behalf of mothers of pre teen boys everywhere - please hurry;)
When is thing coming out?!! Man I need it!! Bitches are crazy!! Trying to nail down my sweet ass.
Wow...with all the hate spewing from your post, I'm surprised you're even heterosexual. If you hate woment that much, you might as well be gay.
other then STD's It wold be cool to have sex without condoms.
Guys, we in trouble, we in big trouble.
.
