Tomatoes are good for you, ketchup is not. I won't even go into details about GMO corn that is used to make the high fructose corn syrup and what a disaster GMO's are to mankind. Also, sugar is horrible for the body and again, can be a GMO sugar.
Eat a tomatoe and ignore this article, you will live longer.
Ketchup is so loaded in sugar (even the organic kind) it doesn't deserve to be on any healthful foods list no matter how much lycopene it has. And rosemary is an herb and pepper is a spice.
Condiment: Noun. A Relish, Spice or Sauce used to season food. [Webster]
So, all spices & herbs are a Condiment. {by the way, real sugar is better for you than fructose, from corn [-less cancerous-] } so Ketchup or Catsup, is still good for you.
actually, there's a difference between "fructose" and "high fructose corn syryp." corn syrup is bad for you. natural fructose is not...it is water soluble.
I believe I will just have the cardboard with a lite vinegarette thank you! Who's business is it anyway what the hell you want to eat? This S%@T makes you crazy and someone is talking or writing about it everyday, can't they find real work?
Oversights or inaccuracies notwithstanding, I found this article useful in my evolving food choice-making. McDougall Plan has a great, simple catsup recipe - NO sugar: tomato paste, vinegar, lemon juice, and soy sauce. Tastes way better than any commercial product, organic or no.
The pepper and Tabasco thing have always been in my family for years.
I am relatively fit and trim at 52, ( I consume lots of pepper and Tabasco), while my younger sibling who does not is rather obese.

I wonder what it would taste like if you put everything into a blender and just drank it as a shake ?
YUM !
Try it and then let us know how it comes out. hehe
I had to do that for a while when my jaw was broken and wired together for 8 weeks. it's not so appetizing, trust me lol
interesting article...however, i don't consider rosemary and cinnamon as condiments. i was expecting to see things like relish or mustard, etc...
Rosemary and cinnamon. One is an herb one is a spice. Definitely not a condiment. However, they are very good for us.
Condiment: N. a Relish, Spice or Sauce used to season food. [Webster]
Just like salt & pepper

Sugar? I always shied away from it thinking it was high in Salt!
I can't top El Capitans comment. Best laugh Ive had in days. Thanks
Yo... "thinker"
Think you might want to research your claims about high fructose corn syrup...
It's loaded with fructose not "sugar" (sucrose) which is a combo of fructose and glucose.
Each has a biological function... go look it up...
and of course, that's the reason you're thin? tabasco also has peppers in it. they are good for your body. however, ketchup is not.
About sauerkraut - I thought that commercially made sauerkraut was pasteurized thereby killing any beneficial probiotics. True or false?
