this is truly a teribble, tragic and unfortunate thing that happened. my heart goes out to the injured, whether it be physical or mental injury.
maybe an extra 'tie down' extending from the bottom of the harness (at the bit, but outside the horses mouth, on each side) up to the blinders (eye patches OR EYE SHIELDS) would have prevented this terrible accident from happening.
i am positive that the horse whose blinders were displaced, got scared at the sight of so many people, and bolted, which in turn scared the other horse. I JUST HOPE THAT SOME "" IT'S THE HORSES FAULT, LET'S KILL THEM"" TYPE NEANDERTHAL SENTIMENT DOESN'T TAKE HOLD and that everyone can and will be calm.
by all means, maybe not use these two certain horses again for this type thing, but also by all means, there is no reason to get all wierded out and adopt the "" we got to kil those horses"" tpye sentiment.
Hope they have insurance. What the hell did they bring untrained horses to a pararde for. No excuse on part of the handlers and Ive been around horses for most my life. Idiots.
It two piloted and planed it all along, he gave the signal and they began there dash for revenge.
Get off of my back and were tired of your hot as parades. I want to stand in the shade and eat the cool grass and run the country side, but no, you always want me to do this and that, and take thing out of my mouth.
A terrible tragedy. What happened to the horses? Were they injured? People......think about what is safe.....do not put gentle creatures in these situations. People, people, people. People are responsible. Think. Think. Parade situations are beyond a horse's comfort level. Maybe 50 years ago, certainly not today. Did you bring your dog to the fireworks???????? People.....think. Let's show some common sense.
Murphy, your spelling and grammar is so poor that I can not even understand what you were trying to say. When making a point, especially if you are trying to be sarcastic or thought provoking, it would serve you well to use the correct word, there versus their for instance.
Scott, your're ann absoulute morron. See, you understood just fine?
Murphy's comment was well taken and your response lacks compassion. Please, just curl up in your dictionary and forget about what's going on around you.
@ someone who cares, the post to which I was referring is no longer listed. The post directly before mine is written well and was not the reason for my comment. Perhaps it was removed, I am not sure, but trust me I am not a moron, I doubt you are either. If you had read the comment perhaps you would have understood. Either way it is a sad situation.

Prayers for all involved, what a horrible thing to happen.
My old sweet gelding rubbed his bridle off once, but being the lazy laid back boy he was, he just dropped his head and started eating grass.
It two piloted and planed it all along, he gave the signal and they began there dash for revenge.

Murphy, it was not your comment that I meant to refer to, I sincerely apologize for the mistake.

adrift2, where did it say they were untrained horses???? just because of their actions doesn't mean that they were untrained. Maybe your the idiot.
This is very sad, my heart goes out to the families, friends and community of Bellevue.
