This is the whole reason your beloved president used the recess rule to appoint him. Senators have been asking for a list of his donors since his appointment debate began. No such list has been produced and would have had to come forward in a hearing. Ray, I don't disagree with your points. But what I've learned with this administration is that many administrations in the past have used the same tactics as our current Prez is using. Our Constitution has become a waste of how our laws should be followed for a long time, and We the People are just now learning to understand how badly is has been abused.

It's time for We the People to clean house in DC and put in people that will follow our laws. Our Constitution and what it stands for means nothing if the Prez and Congress continue to abuse it as long they ignore it for their own personal agendas.

I hope you aren't suggesting that Congress represents the American people. Congress represents the special interests that paid the bribes that paid of the campaigns that put the members of Congress into their undeserved positions. Our Congress is virtually a 100% corrupt organization at this point - so circumventing them is a good thing.

We need to wake up, as a people, and realize that our laziness and lack of interest in politics has resulted in us blindly voting the worst candidates imaginable to office. The more corruptable the politician, the more willing they are to accept campaign contributions (bribes), and thus the more able they are to launch attack ads against their opponents (corrupt and incompetent politicians attack their opponent rather than show how they would lead), and thus the more likely they become in getting elected. What a sorry state this country is in! :(

GCV, I believe Ray and I were pointing out exactly what you went on to say, unless I totally missed something about his post. (I'm post surgery and on powerful drugs, so anything is possible.) But I believe we both feel that Congress and not just one side of the aisle, at least on my part of this issue, is corrupt.

We the People are not given consideration for what Congress does because we are not special interests groups. We are fed lie upon lie, backroom bargains, and who knows what else by politicians that promise everything to be elected and then only look at how best to get re-elected in the next election. Polls tell Congress how we feel about issues but they are ignored. It's long past time for the election results to make politicians understand we are serious about the road they are taking us down and I hope in Nov, they get the message.

The people of this country are fed up with both sides. True, we've ignored it for many years but never has it been so blatantly shoved in our faces as it has been since Obama was elected. The bragging of many politicians on what they *got* squeezed into the HC bill was a real wake-up call to many of us, no matter the party. At the time we were being asked to tighten our belts, Congress was on a spending spree the likes of which was unbelievable in the circumstances we were in. Spending ones way out of a recession does not work. Continued spending has not worked. Do I blame only Dems, he!! no! I blame both sides as they both saw the time bomb ready to blow on the loans/housing market and did nothing and this has been brewing for many administrations. Not a one of them stood up to protect this country and most all of them are still not looking at where we are headed or listening to the people now.

BTW, I am not saying what Bush or any prez before him did what was right in the appointment department, but Bush is not in office now. And Americans have (hopefully) learned to not accept that which is no longer acceptable.
