this is great news !!
USA is hung up on MENTAL HEALTH and other invisible stuff nobody can see to dispute they exist. Any thing visible and useful is slowly going off shore. USA will be left with Derivatives and Mental Health and other countries will own USA and liberty as we know it today will be gone. Never talked to anyone that a shrink helped...except to get them money by their diagnosis!
The VA hardly requires proving what caused the PTSD in the first place - as someone who deals EXTENSIVELY with the disability systems, both Army and VA, I have seen firsthand people claiming service connection for PTSD when they didn't even leave these shores and even those that when they did, they sat on a base NEVER going outside the wire and come up with some VERY good stories. Some of these people didn't realize that there were those who ratted them out as they should be. Just know your story and tell it well is how you get it through the VA, even the Army - since the Army barely needs justification either. Forget about having a CAB, CIB, CFMB or even a Purple Heart, they'll just cursory glance at them - those items will only help for Combat- Related determinations. Just sick of what some of these people are doing. The ones who REALLY deserve it are getting F'd by the system because it is over-saturated with those leeches clogging up everything.

Hey Tired....Excellent comment...nice to hear from someone with real experience and speaks factually not all this high emotion crap that wants to give to everyone that can fabricate a tear jerking story....no wonder USA is going broke.
hopefully, being that bitter towards the vets you claim to work "extensively" with, you've hopefully quit that position............don't work with animals either, they don't need you kicking 'em because you're frustrated with the life you've made for yourself....

While I am sure there is a small amount of people that might abuse the system. I can tell you personally as a Marine Corps Iraq combat veteran from 2003, that not a day goes by that I wish that I hadn't been to Iraq and done the things we did and saw the things that I saw. I will not go into details as no one wants to hear it anyway. PTSD is no joke. Try living in complete paranoia all the time that everyone is a threat at any time and you can't turn your back on them, including family. If paying a little extra for a small amount of benefit is too much for this country, then we should not have started wars. I am sick of seeing people write down hateful comments without any understanding of the situation.
don't let the tiny-minded ignorant idiots on here get to you - they would rip off their own child's head & sh*t down their throat if they thought they could post something equally stupid about it. Vets in this country for years have been ignored by these same idiots who were too cowardly or "medically/mentally disabled" to actually SERVE their county. As a Community Health Nurse for 11 yrs in the recent past, I've worked with vets -- esp Vietnam vets who have experienced many injustices by this country - during the war, coming home & even now. I am so tired of the "tired" rejects who claim to work - or more likely "know" someone who works with the VA & express their ignorance of a very real disabling disability. Of course there are "fakers"/losers who are going to try to abuse the system -- are they really that naive to believe that the VA is the only system that people try to abuse??? Try working at welfare, social services, child protective services, adult protective, social security, any workman's comp agency - any AGENCY that deals with people & you'd be disenchanted with the human race and the abuse they do of the system (set up to help those in need) or of others as long as they get their "ends". God bless you for having served this country & let these hate-filled people have the freedom they do - including the "free" speech they post on here.
