So physicians are going on a work slow down for higher pay. Sounds like the Texas Medical Association is a union to me, not a "physicians interest group". What's with these communist doctors banning together to get more money out of the government? Let's do away with all insurance, Medicare and Medicaid and all other forms of guaranteed payment they get and let doctors try to maintain their current lifestyles on what their patients can afford to pay out of pocket just like all other professions have to.
how about teaching hospitals soley funded by medicaid? student tuition would help cover costs. i know my doctor very well and she says that already, every medicaid patients she takes actually LOSES money for her.
Doctors have huge overhead costs like nurses and malpractice insurance. Seriously if fewer people sued doctors that alone would drop the cost of health care.
This but the latest symptom of a society that is fast approaching the point at which it can no longer afford itself. Since that is an extremely uncomfortable realization it will be put off as long as possible by cannibalizing all remaining resources until there is nothing left.
Try increasing reimbursement rates and eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse in the system to pay for it.
Those who work don't want to pay even more in taxes to pay for entitlements to those who won't work because it is easier for them not to.
