I am nor surprised, all to often patients in nursing homes and other care for the elderly facilities do not pay attention to complaints of patients. In a local facility, a patient died when her oxygen was left on a portable tank and not switched back to the house O2 when she was put back to bed. Both the nursing assistant who failed to make the O2 change, and the nurse taking care of the patient received a slap on the wrist ($100.00 fine for the CNA and $1,000.00 for the RN) and kept their jobs, license and all.
