Organizations that promote homosexual agendas, like NAMBLA, GLAAD and LAMBDA are struggling to pull us backward into the days of yesteryear, back into the days of ancient Greece and Rome, when homosexuals had more "civil rights" and "human rights" and most homosexuals routinely sodomized 12-year-old boys. BigDee, despite your nearly Mel Gibson-ish rant towards inanity, what is your point. The article is about treating AIDS and therefore preventing its spread. Would you rather that we not treat it and allow millions to die both straight and gay? We tried that once, it was called the Reagan years and it was a massive failure of humanity, compassion and politics. I am not sure what your agenda is, and I am guessing it is based on a religious fervor. So again I ask where is your compassion? Also you horribly mis-state the information in the CDC document. Homosexuals are not the only group whose numbers are growing. The document is also very specific that treatment for all and compassion for all is a must in the fight against this global pandemic. Please, when dealing with issues that are bigger than your understanding, step aside. Also GLAAD and LAMDA are groups that fight for the rights of the LBGT community, NMABLA is a fringe organization much like the KKK is to Christianity. One should never claim that they are the same caliber or speak for the community, just as no one would say that the KKK speaks for all of Christianity. I know this as I have decided to study the issues from all sides, rather than just posting a belief that was told to me.

Question? without a cure and without a vaccine...how does extending a HIV infected persons life form 2 years (a few years ago) to 20 years (today)...It seems that would only increase the total numbers of infections as the infection vectors (patients) continue infecting for many years longer than the natural progression of the disease would support

Africa has 63% of all HIV cases which is 25 million people most of them heterosexuals. Dr. Montaner is advocating if everyone is on HIV medication the disease will stop spreading as people who are on medication become undetectable, meaning that chances of them spreading the virus is minuscule. Dr. Montaner and The Swiss government have publicly acknowledge this.

By the way, the reason the CDC uses the term MSM is because it encompasses not just men who self-identify as gay but those men who identify as straight but have sex with men nonetheless and then come back and infect their girlfriends. There is a spike in African American women with AIDS, too.
Finally, this article is about the need for AIDS treatment worldwide, not just the US. US MSMs aren't responsible for the prevalence of AIDS/HIV infection in Africa. However, let's not let facts get in your way when you want to hate the gays.
