I have elderly parents that I help take care of. I might survive the flu, but it would most likely be deadly for them. not in my healthcare world. took it myself, gave it to thousands. nobody died, got guillian barre' or even passed out. where do you get your distorted info from, the paranoia files?

My husband worked for more than a decade in nursing homes. Flu shots were forced on every resident, there was no informed consent by the resident. In the two to three weeks following the "vaccine epidemic" the residents got sick with vomiting, diahhrea, and fevers. My husband had to clean it up as did the other resident assistants. Year after year the same scenario would play out. Of course, those making the decisions didn't have to clean up the messes that resulted! The vaccine made so many sick, and it is doubtful that it helped anyone. In fact, there is a study that shows that the flu shot does not actually lower the death rate from the flu for the elderly.

Also, 90 percent of vaccines have thimerisol which is 50 percent ethyl mercury. The half life of mercury in the brain is 20 years. That's an awful long time to recover from the flu shot. I wouldn't throw 20 to 40 years away recovering from a vaccine that first does not work, and even if it did at best would prevent me from a few days to a few weeks of discomfort. Plus, when a person gets the real thing, their immune system becomes stronger by having to work harder to recover than it would by a fake "immunization"

Thanks for pointing out all the misconceptions of the posts above. I was about to go on a bit of a rant until I saw your post.

Personally, I think people who refuse vaccines put all of us at risk. Just look at the current outbreak of whooping cough in California, or the outbreak of mumps among Hasidic Jews last year in New York.

People need to remember that vaccines have virtually eliminated polio, small pox, and many other deadly diseases. It's one of the reasons that our life expectancy has increased so dramatically over the last 100 years (there are other reasons too, of course).

We should all take this very seriously.

This vaccine was the most monitored release of a vaccine in history. It's as safe and effective as any of the vaccines we've ever produced. No doubt you gave your three children all the recommended baby shots. I did that too for my first three children. My three oldest got sick when school started too. They had tons of ear infections as babies and got sick, it seems at the drop of a hat. My younger two did not get any of the baby shots. I got educated and could no longer take the risk of vaccinating. To my surprise, they never got colds or the flu, even when exposed to lots of other sick kids. My kids immune systems weren't tinkered with by vaccines, their brains weren't poisoned by mercury. I even kept them out of school for three weeks if a classmate was vaccinated. My one daughter was out half of kindergarten and six weeks of first grade, and yet is the youngest child in her class and is at the academic top of her class. Enough said.

If you knew anything (even the slightest bit) about biology, you'd know what a vaccine is and how the body processes it (aka just like everything else, since they are just proteins). But hey, you are clueless, but I'll agree that parents should be informed. Just please read actual scientific sources of information, rather that the crackpot propaganda some of the folks are spouting. Again, what a crock. Statistics are available for the compliance of healthcare workers at hospitals and medical facilities, and compliance (for example, the H1N1 vaccine of 2009) was generally as high as the regular flu vaccine. Vaccination was encouraged, but not manditatory, and between 65 and 70% of the 13,000 employees at our medical center received the yearly flu and the H1N1 vaccine. There were significant numbers of inpatients with H1N1 exposure last year (meaning they were sick enough that they needed to be hospitalized), and these patients were not in the traditional very young/very old categories. REAL information (gathered scientifically and with staistical relevance) is out there, and easy to obtain.
