Whatever happened to getting basic protection from these so called "profressional grade" football helmets that cost a fortune?? Maybe its time for quarterbacks (a.k.a. Human Targets for 300 lb linebackers) to start wearing DOT approved full sized Motorcycle Racing Helmets........injuries like Mannings should never happen in football........a 3" gash on the temple requiring 12 stitches? Gimme a break! He might as well have been wearing a baseball batter's helmet with a chin strap.....Eli would have been better off.
His helmet popped off. Manning got cut when his forehead hit another guy's helmet after his flew off his head. With the hit he took, a DOT helmet probably would have popped off, too.
he didnt hit his head on any ones helmet... the video of the incident does not show exactly what he hit his head on but it does show 100% it was not another players helmet.... the angle of his head going down came in contact at waist level with 2 players but the video does not show the contact, after his head clears their waist you see massive bleeding from his head. this is normal for a laceration to the scalp. It is possible his own helmet cut him, but there is no blood at all after his helmet clears so it is unlikely to have caused it either.

never mind! he clearly hits his head on #36 jets, you can see his helmet lurch backwards. he probably hit the bolt on it.
