If parent's decide to vaccinate against certain things it's their decision. But I hope they remember when it comes to the vaccine for HPV that it only covers 5 strands of HPV. It will not 100% prevent your daughter from getting HPV or cervical cancer in the future. Especially since not all cases of cervical cancer have to do with HPV. I know a few people who've had cervical cancer and tested negative for HPV. I honestly think Gardasil has used fear tactics to sell their vaccine, and I hope parents do enough reading to know what HPV truly is.

Funny. The current recommended schedule has never been fully tested for children 2 and under, and now we are going to start tapping into teens? This can only be nothing more than the usual CDC store front for big pharma. And I am sure that as in all the other vaccinations, the manufacturer is protected from lawsuits. Make your choice wisely, and not entirely on media spin.

Excellent article - if only there were not almost 19,000 adverse reactions and 78 deaths associated with the HPV vaccines - mostly Gardasil. These incidents are reported in VAERS - the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System - and it is estimated that only 1 to 10% of the population is reporting. There have also been 278 reports of abnormal pap tests post-vaccination - including high risk HPV and cervical lesions.

An independent study on the safety and efficacy of Gardasil needs to be conducted before this vaccine is mandated. Many of the girls who have become ill have had to drop out of school and suffer from autoimmune and neurological problems.

Also HPV can be transmitted many ways other than sexually. According to FDA documents if a woman is exposed to HPV and gets vaccinated with the HPV vaccines her risk of getting cervical cancer increases to 44.5% with Gardasil and 32.5% with Cervarix. FDA reports also state that 73.3% of women getting Gardasil will develop a 'new medical condition.'
