I wonder if other cultures have posts like these whenever they read about Americans doing whatever we do. For example, do the Japanese comment threads get into angry rants against Baptists every time there's an article about Marlboro or Coca Cola? Do they quote the Mormon bible at each other and discuss the goings on of the Amish, Catholics or Jehovah's Witnesses? Mompantero: As to your first point, pigs can indeed be predatory of other animals. The greatest current danger to the echidna, one of the native animals of Australia, is feral pigs. They can move much faster than the small echidna and if they catch one will crunch it down like a pretzel.

I would like to try it but I love cow's milk. I am glad we are using different foods to help feed

I don't see how one milk could be considered disgusting when compared to any other milk. Europeans and nationalities that developed largely out of European cultures consume the milk of cows, goats and sheep. I don't see camel milk as being any different.
If you want disgusting, think about blue cheese: It is milk that has been curdled and deliberately infected with mould and allowed to partially decompose before being consumed. Every time I enjoy blue cheese I think how some cultures would consider it to be totally revolting. Mouldy food? Who in their right mind would eat that? LOL!
Considering how well-fed the Europeans already are, how about shipping some of that stuff to Pakistan. They're starving and need all the nutrition they can get.

The one good thing about it is that if you do not like it or the idea of it, you do not have to drink it. It will be jsut like every other item in the grocery store. You like it, you buy it. Camel milk is good. I had it several times during tours in the Middle East. It seems to me a little richer and creamier than cows milk.
Different cultures have different tastes. Some things we Americans like are considered pretty disgusting in other cultures, and vice versa. It has nothing to do with religion. There are only a couple of adult comments on this thread so far. Maybe it can continue after the kiddies go to bed.

The life span of a camel is twice that of the cow and is already eaten in some cultures. I wonder about the feed demands of the camel and vulnerability to disease? Cost effectiveness could be a factor in commercial growth of camels as a milk and meat source.

Pigs are very clean animals. In fact, pigs are some of the cleanest animals around. They like to maintain separate eating sleeping and defecation areas. When given the room and freedom to decide, pigs choose to be clean and tidy.

Sounds good to me. I'd be willing to try it. I tried goats milk once, and could not stand the way it tasted, so I offered it to my cat, who also refused it. But I think marketing camel's milk is a good idea, especially if they find out that it's good for people who are lactose intolerant, and has other good qualities cow's milk doesn't have.
