I cannot believe it!!! This topic has been on the web for almost 12 hours. Where are all the people who extolled the benefits of MJ and its miraculous properties to cure everything from river blindness to autism to cancer to Chrohn's disease??? What's going on??? Not a single reference to any of the pot smokers daily or monthly magazines, or articles touting pot as the be-all and end-all of medical treatment!
Jack, Jack, Jack - there have NEVER been any claims of cannabis "curing" anything. Most of the benefits derived are purely (and correctly) anecdotal and come from the patients themselves. The tack on this is that doctors that recommend (NOT prescribe) cannabis do so when patients tell them it has had a positive therapeutic benefit to them. Now this may seem crazy on the surface that a patient would be able to go to a doctor and tell the doctor that using cannabis helps with whatever ails them but I'd point out that (1) the scientific and medical community to this day have absolutely no idea how it is that aspirin works on relieving pain and (2) that many legal pharmaceuticals developed for one thing have long been prescribed for ailments and diseases other than the one for which they were originally developed.
I understand your point but go to the blog on U.S. advisers to guide breast cancer research and review the comments. You will see from whence my sarcasm arises. I have done research on THC. I know what it can do and cannot do. THC relieves nausea, improves appetites and relieves symptoms of disease. My comments are directed at the "cures" claimed by others in that blog.
