forcing us to vaccinate our children is taking away our right to choose--- have you read the studies about possible links to other problems ?? the additives alone are enough to scare me - i personally vaccinated my child when she was younger, but i understand the desire to not vaccinate --
Actually, vaccination has not been linked to any health problems except in those who have weakened immune system, who are always at risk for illness. There are those who wrongly believe that it is linked to autism. This is patently false, the study that found a link in the early 90s was debunked for improper practices and poor scientific methods. Multiple studies since then have completely refuted any link between vaccination and autism, which has been found increasingly genetic in nature. Frankly, I would maimthe parent whose unvaccinated child infected mine with polio. Even if there was a link, autism is still better than getting polio. I have no sympathy for the incompetent, only for their innocent children.
I would also just like to add that the doctor who put out the article statin that vaccines caused autism RETRACTED the article. Even he admitted it was wrong. I'm 100% with you, Ryan. People not vaccinating their children is the reason we're seeing outbreaks of diseases like measles that we *thought* we got rid of.
And you make a good point, Door King. It's akin to it being illegal to knowingly infect someone with HIV.
Let the fundies send their children to private schools funded by the government but only for the unvaccinated. Problem solved.
I have a friend who was against vaccnations for her own reasons. If you claim it is for religious reasons you did not have to have your child get them. 3 of her kids are out of school and all became LPN's working on their RN's, which mean they have to have shots. And even more Ironic is that 2 of then joined the Army and served in Iraq, and you don't go to Iraq without a million innoculations. Okay so it's not a million but you get what I'm saying.
Whooping cough is horrid and no baby should ever have to have it. We did not have those shots when I was little so I had to endure all 5 kinds of measels. Back then you were put in a dark room and made to rest.
Your friend's children are lucky they didn't get something horrible, like polio or measles, mumps, or rubella, or pertussis, any of which used to kill thousands of children.
You absolutely have the right to not vaccinate your children. But, *I* have the right not to have your diseased child next to my vaccinated child in a PUBLIC school. This is about the common good, not the good of your whiny, conspiracy theorist asses. Keep your kids home and teach them whatever nonsense you want.
I wouldn't trust that the vaccine works either. That is what your saying isn't it? It's sort of a paradoxical argument.
I never understood people not vaccinating their kids. I don;t agree but it's their right to do it. What is not their right is infecting my kid. When it has to do with public health they should be rules. I have the right to keep my son healthy too.

Whooping cough was almost none existent only 20 years ago, Illegals with out verified shot records are bringing in deseases we got ridd of years ago. This is driving up medical costs nation wide. Something needs to done before we dragged back to the dark ages. Go Arizona, Florida and that follow. Washington DC just wants the votes not what is good for us the PEOPLE!!!!!!
