Dr. Breidenbach is an amazingly brilliant doctor. He operated on my left hand about 5 years ago after accidentally seriously cutting my hand with a knife. After four operations I am lucky to still be able to use my hand thanks to Dr. Breidenbach.
What a wonderful thing. I sincerely hope this person has return of motion and good blood flow and nerve regeneration in his recovery. I am really wondering if this Dr. could help my husbands hands in any way because of his 3rd drgree burns to his hands and loss of many fingers and no grip or anything in the right hand. Happened in 1984 so long ago and the Drs. did a wondeful job with what he had keft of his body. They left the hand attached because it 'looked' better. But one must have enough nerve and tendons, etc. remaining to attach to the transplantes hand. They do amazing medical feats now. Best of luck to you! You're a truly brave Survivor!
if it works... they will have to do all new fingerprints on him.. or the dead guy could get blaimed for alot of crimes if this guy wanted to rob an atm or something... i'm just saying... shrugs...
That's one reason I love Louisville. Brilliant, brilliant medical research centers. First artificial heart in Louisville, many amazing medical performances daily, and now this.
That's why Louisville supports stem cell research and will make sure Rand Paul doesn't win (who will stop many research programs). Otherwise, without funding, this and many other research and medical stunning moments could never happen.
It is simply amazing the medical miracles performed these days. This is a wonderful story, and my hopes and prayers will go out for this man toward a successful recovery. Doctors and nurses involved in this procedure, a tip of the old hat to you for even undertaking such an operation. You must be so very proud, as I am of all of you even tho' I don't really know you.
Dang, the article pulled me in because I was interested in how this surgery was Tweeted. Fabulous surgery! Please can someone post the Twitter profile where this was Tweeted... sounds like one that's worth following!
