Why would he have to go to the hospital as a precautionary measure? My daughter saved someone from drowning when she was only eight years old and they didn't make her go to the hospital. Pulling someone probably smaller than you to shore is not likely to injure you. Now for doing something heroic, he's left with unnecssary expenses.

There must be some law that nobody knows about. I too saved someone from being beaten to death. The guy that I grabbed tried to sue me. The beaten up guy lived, and no law suit. I was the one who could have sued, but didn't. Years ago I heard that you could be liable it you helped someone and they died. Not sure if it's true, It makes me think about doing something good for humanity; I did it anyway.I would not pay the bill.
