So, exactly what is the "feed?" They're not telling us what the feed is made up of, that it could become so uniformly contaminated. Is it ground-up animal parts, aka "offal" (which chickens really are not bred to eat)? Is it a mixture of offal and grain? I'm not clear on whether or not salmonella infects grains...
Meat and bone meal as feed? Chickens don't eat meat. Mad cow started because they were feeding cows, well, cows. Stop canibalizing these vegitarian animals jusy so you can get a little more crap out of them. Totally ridiculous. The FDA and USDA are an effing joke.
Clinton enacted policies to deal with this exact issue. The FDA, under Bush and his laissez faire attitude, dragged their feet for 8 years. Same thing with the EPA. The right's trying to kill off the weak.
How many appointments has has the right dragged their feet on? The right is actively trying to bring about exactly what Glenn Beck (aka the Dick) proposed. How can government work when politics function when one group behaves like they want government to fail? They're getting their wish.
The FDA is a good for nothing government agency! It should be abolished. We have too much government.
The industry will police itself and if it doesnt, and a few people die....hey, accidents happen. We should not penalize them; after all they create jobs!
I dont want the governement between me and my food supplier. I hope Palin and Rand Paul come out to speak against the abuses the FDA is committing against these poor companies!!
And of course, Wall St. will self regulate to benefit people and not itself. And employers won't take advantage of employees, send jobs overseas, respect worker's personal life...
I say steer clear of the inevitable in-fighting and finger-pointing and just stay safe. Soft-boiled, sunny-side up, over-easy, gently poached. Uh uh. Not these days. Runny yolks are out. Hard-boiled is the safest way to go. And you think you know how to boil an egg, but I'm here to tell you that you can do better: Egg Safety: How to Boil an Egg http://gigabiting.com/?p=4684/

"Contamination can come from animal or human feces that contact the food during its processing or harvesting."
Now ya know!
"The FDA has said it has "no inspectional history" with the two farms."
HUH! Unbelievable! I wonder if they have some history together if you get my drift.....

So, after 2 years, where's Obama's troups? "It's Bush's fault!!" You need a new line, this one's so old Rodney Dangerfield wouldn't even touch it.
