I wonder how much Big Pharma is paying these guys. The scare tactics never stop. I haven't had a flu shot since th 60's and somehow I have managed to live and not even get the flu. The only family members who did get sick were the ones who got the flu shots. Go figure.
How quickly we forget.
It's been less than 100 years since the Spanish Flu caused a world-wide epidemic. My aunt was very young, but remembers her parents talking about it for the rest of their lives.
Five percent of the world's population died in that outbreak - over 260 million people. That's nearly the entire population of the US today, and the population of the world was much smaller then. How many of those people would have given anything for a vaccine?
If bird flu is the next epidemic, it could look more like the Black Plague. The Plague killed somewhere between 50% - 65% of the population in Europe. Bird flu seems to kill over 60%.
Even the seasonal flu kills 36,000 people here every year. People are afraid of terrorists - flu is much more serious.
The "swine" flu has been proven to be a 100% man-made bio-engineered virus. The psychopathic Pharma companies who released it are still operating and no one has gone to jail. The vaccines made by these psychopathic Pharma companies are killing people all over the planet and they have been banned in many countries. And again, no one has gone to jail. Good Luck fellow humans because these criminals are still on the loose.
What....the U.N. "wasted governments' money" ??? What is new ??? The United States Medicare and Medicaid programs are probably the top two government run programs for Fraud, Waste, and Abuse.
How about our Department of Health and Human resources tossing about 40,000,000 "expired doses" of H1N1 even though the department placed stringent rules on who were allowed to get the shots and eventually, those on the bottom rung of the ladder were not administered the shot ?? And how much did the "disposed shots" cost the taxpayers ???
Complacent ?? No, but mad as H$$$ over the waste in our government run programs.
I did not receive either a flu or the H1N1 shot last year and never had one iota of a flu symptom.

When they hear wolf-like howling in the distance, they don't know if he's headed our way or not, but if he does show up, it's way too late. He's got his paws on our chests and his teeth in our jugular veins. I don't trust the pharmaceutical industry either, but what's wrong with being prepared?

Thanks for that. I was beginning to feel a bit depressed by all the negative responses here. I agree with the comment on Big Pharma, but don't understand the anti-science aspect of some of these comments at all.

I too first thought of the little boy who cried wolf. They did it to themselves, maybe with the help of big pharma.
Here we go again. Vaccines are dangerous and are NOT proven to be safe. And yet, they want to use us and our children to experiment with. ENOUGH with the chemicals in our drugs and vaccines and all the side effects that come with them!
They are sure getting aggressive now that they are no longer legally responsible for anything. Have you noticed ALL the TV ads that are packed with new diseases and so called life saving drugs with side effect warnings, some including 'death"? OMG. Why wait?
I totally agree! How long will we allow Big Pharm and the government to push us toward putting drugs in our bodies for their statistical analyses? They see the public as one big experimental population. I'm opting out. Never had a flu shot, never will.
That said, there are some vaccines that are proven to be effective. Tetanus vaccine every 10 years is an excellent idea. And I wouldn't leave the U.S. without certain vaccinations.
The friggen liberals just want to scare everyone so people will have to look to the government for help. That way they get control. Liberals will lie all they can to get what they want. It's all about power. They don't give a damn about you.

The WHO actually changed the definition of "pandemic" to make H1N1 fit. To me, that is indicative of collusion on the part of the WHO and big pharma.

The WHO changed that definition, omitting the section indicating "enormous numbers of deaths and illness." It now states:
A disease epidemic occurs when there are more cases of that disease than normal. A pandemic is a worldwide epidemic of a disease. An influenza pandemic may occur when a new influenza virus appears against which the human population has no immunity. With the increase in global transport, as well as urbanization and overcrowded conditions in some areas, epidemics due to a new influenza virus are likely to take hold around the world, and become a pandemic faster than before. WHO has defined the phases of a pandemic to provide a global framework to aid countries in pandemic preparedness and response planning. Pandemics can be either mild or severe in the illness and death they cause, and the severity of a pandemic can change over the course of that pandemic (emphasis added).
These experts are not experts. They are bureaucrats. Self-sustaining bureaucrats, like all the rest.
Don't believe anything you hear about flu vaccines in the mainstream media, including this story. Overall, the comments made by the readers here are more accurate than the written story.
I no longer care whether other people care. I will continue to get the flu shots. I will continue to take care of myself and my loved ones relative to the flu. If the others all believe it is a joke or a conspiracy or just crying wolf then that is fine. Each to their own. That is what being human is all about.
However, what I do care about are those that do not get the flu shot, believe it is all hokum and then get sick and clog up the medical system with their flu complications. They should man/woman up and just treat it at home...... to them it is all a joke anyway. So treat it as such but at home. That way if mine or even me gets sick despite the vaccine there will be resources available.
Quite frankly, a good pandemic would help cull the herd so to speak.

I've been vaccinated for the flu since I was a kid (now 53). I've never had the flu and never had any bad reaction to any vaccine. Had all kinds of vaccines in the military. Nothing ever happened. All you conspiracy theorists, how did this happen? Shouldn't I be dead?
