I'll tell you what's not missing any facts....our company group health care went up by a whopping 26% this year. Before this new health care bill, the increases were a modest 3 to 6 % annually. I was under the impression that this new bill was going to make health care more affordable for all of us. I guess that was just another lie. On top of the huge increase, we now have to pay tax on our health care benefits. This administration is trying to make the masses dependent on the government for survival. Squeezing people even more during a recession is just ridiculous.
This health care plan was always a compromise- an effort to garner votes from both sides of the aisle by Frankensteining elements of diverse approaches together. The elimination of the single payer option was one of those compromises- the unpopular requirement, coming into effect in 2014, that all people carry insurance or face fines for their fiscal irresponsibility, was another. What a surprise that the result satisfies no one- but it's still a foot in the door, and the first effort to elevate our medical ethics to the level of a first world country to successfully fly in the face of a very well entrenched Pharma and Insurance junta rivaling the military-industrial complex in the number of lobbyists retained and the clout leveraged in Washington. The adds being run are an effort to weasel out of those compromises, and to return to the usury of a system that held the gun of bankruptcy to the heads of entire families which have already suffered an unprecedented loss of real income. Offshoring, outsourcing, automation and other measures designed to "cut costs"- a euphemism for "fire people"- have dropped real income by about one fifth over the last few decades- even while executive incomes have soared in repulsively spectacular displays of greed. If you ever needed a reason to vote for Democratic candidates, this dishonesty should suffice. Anyone who likes the idea of losing the quality of life- and sometimes life itself- to the parasitic practices of the multinationals currently sniping the few remaining referees off the playing field should definitely vote for the candidates of the Party of Big Business.
Well the good news is People are Starting to Wake up to the Reality of the Cost and Imact of ObamaCare. These Ads are a God Send! My company is holding off on increasing staff due to the impact of the New Healthcare Costs of Obamacare. We are all working harder afraid of losing our jobs - hoping the Company can Tread Water until Obama and his Minions are voted out of office. Can we hold our breath that long???
His promise: IF you like the healthcare plan you currently have, you can keep it. Only one of the biggest of many lies. I have medicare advantage and I hear that is being eliminated. I really would like to keep it. I read on Fox that the president will get personal and tell about his hardships as a child to connect with people hurting today. Does this mean many many more will be able to attend an Ivy League school after high school and travel to countries like Pakistan? Who paid for those trips and if he was so poor, who paid for his education? Not in his book!!! This is another pity, pity, I can't stand criticism speech that his blind followers will suck up.
John Paul II has said that "there is a public mortgage on all public and private property" (cf. Gaudium et Spes, 71; Centesimus Annus, 30). Since right to health is universal for all men, the Pope has suggested that the money from this mortgage be used to pay for healthcare and medicines of those poor who need it (Insegnamenti di Giovanni Paolo II, v. XXIV(1), pp. 1245-46, "Message to Mr. Kofi Annan during General Assembly of the United Nations, 21 June 2001). There are thousands of unused private latifundia that could be sold for paying for healthcare. Government also owns untold amounts of land. The universal right to health and medicines entitles the U.S. citizens to these assets!
