Is it safe to have a dozen geese/ducks swimming in your back yard pond, with small children running around, especially if they are going to the bathroom in yard.? I don,t know if my neighbor owns them or it they are wild. I just moved in.Who can I call?
If they are white, then they are domestic. Just make sure your kids wash their hands after playing outside(which they should anyways) and they will be fine. Farmers and others have had birds of all kinds with no sign of any kind of disease for centuries. The problem areas of the bird flu are happening in areas of the world where people are basically living in the chicken coop, and having little or no sanitation practices in place. I just hope this thing doesn't start jumping human to human. If those geese/ducks are not owned and you do not want them, try calling animal control.
