The US already has a reservoir of plague, in wild rodents out West like squirrels, chipmunks, and groundhogs. It started with a human outbreak near San Francisco in the 1890s and by the early 1960s samples were found in rodents as far east as Kansas. And plague can turn pneumonic at any time. So far, so good.
Wish this article had included more information about pneumonic plague and how it's transmitted.
Otherwise, how are readers supposed to know about the risk or prevention?
(I Googled for the additional details...)
Please god KEEP this out of the US!!!
