I agree. I sometimes find myself apologizing to my boyfriend when he is making ME feel badly, in order to get a conversation started about what happened and each of our feelings. Because he truly doesn't get as upset as I do about things, I feel like I have to make the first move in a conversation in order to bring about resolution and understanding between us. "I'm sorry" is just an easy way to grab his attention and tell him "something was wrong here- let's fix it!"

This was a study done by a university in CANADA, probably paid for by the school and it's financial supporters or paid for by the student to get their degree. I haven't noticed that women mean anything except "pardon me" when they say "pardon me". Maybe some do. So do some men as well.

I've never noticed a particular gender bias in rude drivers, or if I have, I'd say it was more prevalent among young men. Maybe you just notice more when a woman does something aggressive or stupid

The inability to say sorry leads to divorce and bitter break ups. Men are worse gossips and their egos have more trouble dealing with rejection than women. Dave, I agree with you. Men seek raw power and control, and women through social status have become coniving as traditional gender characterizations. The comments posted about "I'm sorry." not meaning what it says is more true than the title of the article. More like, 'I'm sorry. You should apologize over your generalizations and inability to forgive. Even if he apologized, I feel you would reject it anyways(why wouldn't you, he cheated on you). I think the apology you're looking for is just a power-trip.

Wow Glenda!! What do you say to the millions of guys out there that think the same thing about women that you do about men? That you're all just stains on the earth? There are lots of them.
