Hmm, seems like my last comment was deleted. Sorry, this article is garbage. Psychiatric medications are some of the most overprescribed in the US and this article just encourages it more. Scientific evidence to support Eli Lilly's meds isn't just lacking, it proves that PLACEBOS are more effective. The shooting was tragic, but it had very little to do with Kazmierczak stopping Prozac. He had a history of creepiness and gun obsessions. The reasons people have problems when quitting medications is because they CAUSE WITHDRAWALS and you have to "taper" yourself off of them. I'm sure the author of this article wouldn't like to be coerced to be put on meds because of delusions and told they need to take them for the rest of their lives. Why not write an article about the vast majority of people who are prescribed psychiatric meds who don't need them? Funny that this article is the first one to pop up when you google a search for "off meds". Very stupid.
