I think the other reason people are more willing to donate if the egg was from a donor is that those embryonic children are not only theirs biologically. I think it's easier to wrap your head around the fact tht a donated egg and your husband's sperm produced a child that another couple will raise than that a child made from your egg and your husband's sperm is out there somewhere.
I think embryo adoption is a much better option though than other methods of disposing of embryos or doing research on them.
why would anybody want to the adopt an embryo from somebody else? That's like having a frozen pizza delivered. Just adopt a regular kid and know what you're getting. Plenty of kids available who'd love to have parents.
