I will not be taking the flu shot this year.... Why. You may ask, well because H1N1 was put into the flu vaccine.... And I want to live..... I personally feel that whomever made a decision to change the flu shot with no option for us that doesn't want the H1N1 .... Last year they couldn't force everyone to take the H1N1 and now we the people need to fight back and say "NO to H1N1"..... It's great that they think they found a way for everyone to have this shot but didn't leave any options for us that wanted just a plain old flu shot.... I truly detest the scientific community in making these decision without any options for the elderly, children and the ones that might be allergic to the H1N1.... If everyone will remember how many persons died last year just from the H1N1 shot then u too would be afraid.......
I was working with a coworker who decided to get a flu shot and she came down with a a mild flu which she gave to me and I was sick in bed for two weeks.....tell me how is that good? Every time a pharm company says this drug or shot is good for you....given a few years later they come back and tell us the drugs or shots have serious side effects. I was on hypertension meds which was supposed to be good for me, now they say that it causes diabetes???? Treat one thing get another? I used natural remedies to get off the pharm money gouging meds. I dont trust ANYTHING a pharm company says, period.
I, too, won't be having the flu shot. The sickest I've ever been was when I got a flu shot. I have an egg allergy. Even without, the idea of combining the two shots is not a good one. Let people decide which one's the want to take. I am saying a resounding no on this one.
My thought is....eggs make me so sick I'm out of commission for a day, if I get a flu shot and I have the same kind of reaction to it as I do with eggs how long will I be sick for? Not a chance I want to take.
May be safe? Who in the hell is going to get one or have their child with egg allergies vaccinated because "It may be safe" They are really desperate to get rid of them aren't they... I don't get a flu shots, ever..maybe when I'm older but I really have a lot of doubts and misgivings about what is actually in these things, the medium they put it in and the preservatives they use.
My son is allergic to eggs and has had the flu vaccine every year. They will only administer it at the clinic and he has to wait for 1/2 hour to watch for a reaction. So far so good...
Just in case you're wondering: He has had systemic reactions to egg exposure, so he's not just "skin-test" positive.
My daughter has an egg allergy and no way will she be vaccinated. Her allergist believes that the flu shot she had when she was 5 months old triggered the allergy. So I don't buy it when they say that the egg protein in the vaccine is insignificant. And I agree with buggs no one in my family is getting the flu shot this year because of the H1N1 vaccine being mixed in. They should allow us the option.
These flu shots are a sham. Research what vitamin D3 can do for protecting yourself from the flu and many other problems. Why take something with a risk, take something to naturally prevent it. Also take the purest form. Look for it that contains no corn oil or any other GMO products mixed with it.
People shouldn't get a flu vaccine for several reasons. Egg allergies aside the vaccine may contain one or more of the following.... thimerasol, squalene, formaldehyde, antibiotics, live virus, and aluminum. There are things have have no business inside human beings in any amount unless prescribed for something.
My 21 month old daughter has egg allergies and just got her flu shots this morning. They gave her half the dose in one leg, waited 20 minutes and then gave her the other half in her other leg. She didn't react at all even though she had a positive skin test right before the shots. (I was hoping that she outgrew the allergy, but no such luck.) She has severe asthma, and every cold lands her in the ER/hospital, so I never considered not getting her vaccinated.
After the past 2 years of frequent ER visits and months long of hospital stay with my 3 years old due to Flu and Pneumonia; this year, we decided to give him a flu shot. My 3 years old son is severely allergic to eggs. His Egg IGE is 9.69 Ku/L, a class 3. Twice, he almost lost his life when he ate a birthday cake and Amy's ice cream (both items contain eggs), he went into an Anaphylaxis shock, his air way was blocked. Due to his severe allergic reactions to eggs, we didn't give him Flu shots for the past 2 years, and because of that, his body reacted to Flu was unpredictable. His fever would run from 100 F to 108 F within 30 minutes. He is severely allergic to Tamiflu and Penicillin so he can not take antiviral medicine to fight flu nor any penicillin drug family, an antibiotic medicine for fighting Pneumonia. Recurrent Pneumonia happened 3 times in 3 months due to Flu. Months long hospital stay cost over $65K. After reviewing what had happened with a speciality doctor, we considered it would be safer to give him a flu shot and monitor the allergic reactions closely than take chances to see him suffer recurrent pneumonia and months long hospital stay. He received a flu vaccine today after a skin test. Doctor administered 1/10 of the vaccine volume, waited 30 minutes then administered the rest 9/10 vaccine volume then observed for 1 hour. His body didn't react to the Flu vaccine as much as to the cake and ice cream. We had a team of nurses on site and E.P. Pens ready.
I think parents should use your own judgements and over all you know your child better than anyone else.
I am one of those who is allergic to egg protein in serum form.... i.e. how they manufacture the influenza vaccine.
I for one, am DEFINITELY not going to attempt it. I can eat eggs, any way they are cooked, in any food with no effects - however, should I be foolish enough to allow it in any degree to be injected into my body I go into anaphylactic shock. The last time it happened I was out for almost an hour.
So now I am supposed to take a revolver only loaded with one bullet, spin the chamber, place the muzzle on my temple - then pull the trigger.
For these esteemed researchers to suggest that all people allergic to egg protein in serum form should take the shot anyway is unconscionablein the least! Someone needs to revoke whatever licencing or ability they make have to do research or medicine.
Absolutely NOT. This should not be given to young children who don't have or are working on building a immune system. Ridiculous.. Yes, may be safe. May cause immune system reactions to what they admit they don't understand and when injected, the body has no choice to react.
My son has a egg allergy and got a MMR vaccine that possibly had egg in it. They thought it would be okay. Yeah, thanks alot.. He's on the spectrum now.
Be wise and be sure.. Don't settle for 'May be safe' or 'should be okay'.
I have an egg allergy.. and have the shots each year with no reaction, with exception of a little itching at the site. It is worth the risk than to get the flu, as I have asthma too and just a cold knocks me out for days... If you fear a reaction,,, then get the skin test first. Those of you who think it is bad, you are the ones who refuse to get your kids immunized too, so you spread Whooping Cough, TB, Mumps, Measles.. etc... stupid stupid people... Keep you kids home if you refuse to immunize them, we don't want your kids around our kids or teachers.
Check into adding vitamin D3 to your daily regimen. It's known to decrease the severity and enough will reduce the ability for the flu to be transmitted to you. All of the systems in your body require adequate levels of vitamin D to function properly. One statistic I read was that 83% of the US population is deficient in vitamin D, of course the recommended daily allowance of 400 IU should be at least 2,000 IU to be effective. Vitamin D also has been known to ease respiratory and depression problems as well. Don't take my word for it, look it up.

Flu shots are bad....especially for the poor chickens.....very evil
