Is homophobia a military problem? Yes: During basic training it is used against recruits, constantly. No: No one knows how "coming out" would effect military effectiveness (although Alexander the Great did very well with these kind of troops (except for the elephants). This looks similar to past segregation in WWII and backwards. Of course, we are all bigoted in one way or another.
I dont understand the term "homophobia". A phobia is a fear. Homo refers to homosexual. So, does homophobia mean fear of homosexuals?
The common use of the term seems to refer to people that dont like homosexuals, not a reference to people who are afraid of homosexuals. Shouldnt homophobia be called something like homomalice?
