I wonder what state of health some of these men were in when they were surveyed. Erectile dysfunction is also a symptom/side effect of obesity, heart conditions, and certain drugs that may interact with the Propecia drug. I'm not too informed on these hair-loss treatments, but will the balding effect return once the men are off the treatment?

Why have they not tried it on women? They have the same condition, caused by the same factors so why not test it on them, (I bet a lot would try it) and see if they have any sexual factors.

So we have viagra, which was developed to help with some heart condition and just so happened that getting men horney was a more profitable side effect, that's about all we have. Women have a pill to pop that prevents pregnancy, wish I had a pill that could do the same.

As to the original post and story, Love a man for who he is, if you are so superficial that you think you need hair to attract a woman, then you are looking in the wrong place. Guys...seriously. My fiance has a little thinning area and is worried about losing his hair. When we found out that most of these hair drugs cause sexual problems I said "HELL NO!!". age 39. Dr. recommended the generic to Propecia five years ago. I took a half a pill each day. Didnt see any massive regrowth. Five years later, little thiner in back, but holding steady in front. My only issue was I damn near pissed my pants a couple of times on some long car rides the first 9-12 months on was on this. Eased up on the everyday use and had no bladder issues since. Now I will take every 3-4 days in a row and none on the weekend with no seen issues. I also follow Nioxion shampoo and spray pretty religiously (which I think has helped more, as I notice a little more thining when I have been off of the spray for a while). Dr. said the finasteride would also help with the pro-active provention of prostate cancer. No issues in the sack!!

As a woman past menopause, I took testosterone for a couple years for various reasons, paticularly to increase sex drive but my long hair fell out in handfuls. Baldness or thin hair is pretty distressing to a woman. so I stopped the T and within months my hair grew back again. I might have had a more difficult decision if I had been in a relationship but not many men find bald women really attractive. Problem solved. Hair over sex.

Genetic testing will provide a win for patients since they will know if a drug is safe. It will provide a win for drug companies since they will save billions in legal costs defending a drug against a tiny minority of people with bad reactions to a drug. Lawyers? Their talents could be better used elsewhere.
