what else could you expect from the land of voodoo
It sounds like fear, lack of trust, and not being educated to the benefits of the clinic. I suppose if you had to live in the conditions that these people have had to live in the last few months, since the earthquake you might be distrustful too. It is easier to judge, then to help. These people are human beings too.
There is a lot of Christians there as well, as well as other relgions.
Good old Voodoo religion raising it's ugly head. Take the truth and turn it completely around. Good is bad, bad is good! Death is prefered in voodoo, otherwise they would have thrown that religion off years ago. The Witch doctors know exactly how to manipulate the population with fear and deceit of the good Doctors from the mainland. So sad to see the level of ignorance of these depressed people. They just can't seem to get the idea of what a better life and improvement in the community accually mean. And the devils in Voodoo don't want them too. They need the fresh blood and death to give them strength to manipulate those islands.
Sounds like the poor people think it's being brought in by foreigners.
There needs to be some serious education about Cholera in that Country and ASAP.
There is only so much that the outside world can do. The problem is lack of leadership in Haiti, the leaders must motivate the people to get out of the camps and help themselves. As long as the Haitians sit in around waiting for someone to help them they will never rebuild their country. If outsiders try to rebuild the country it will not be valued by Haitians and it will not last.
I am sure that 99% of Dr's without borders are legit, it would really only take 2 or 3 individuals to actually poison Haitians.
I believe it, there are LOTS of evil people in the world that play good to get themselves in a position to kill, lie, steal, poison, etc etc.
Lots of 'orphans' are kidnapped from war zones or disasters and killed for their organs or sold into sex slavery . JUST LIKE DYNCORP KIDNAPPED LITTLE GIRLS FROM BOSNIA, and it was covered up.

Did I understand this article correctly? The locals are pushing out the doctors that are there trying to treat the disease, because the locals think the clinics are responsible for the disease? Well I hope those primitives have a better plan than the DOCTORS.
They are afraid that people who have cholera will come in from surrounding towns and the countryside for help and will bring the disease to their town.
When the earthquack hit Haiti, the President Obama had promised to not abandon them, and that the USA would help by giving money to lessen the threat of diseases such as this breaking out. I heard that they have not received this help, because of one Republican Senator, (who happens to be a doctor) using politics to withhold needed money. I blame this doctor inparticualr, and the Republican party over all, for withholding money, that could have been used to prevent this disease from breaking out. I fear if the Republicans are put back in power, they would do any to achieve their goal of making sure the President does not have a second term, they will play these kinds of games, for short term gain, and cause the death of many more people, to make the President look weak and ineffective. It is shamefully. It make America look like a country that does not keep its promises.
You really no nothing about what your talking about. I read that bolony last week, and all the facts are all construd terribly. The money can't reach the intended islanders because the government there what's payoffs and cash, first. And then groups may come in to help, maybe. Nothings for sure down there. And the Senator what's first off to see that the money gets there. He doesn't want to be paying off the government and the aid never get to the people. And it's this stipulation that's holding things up. So you help pay off the government first and then they may let a couple bucks go through to the intended islanders, and then maybe not. That's how the game is played. It has nothing to do with holding up money from the USA to help counties around the world for which were know to do, with no strings attached. So first find out the truth.
Why haven't we heard more about the Republicans lack of compassion for helping the Haitians? They are heartless, and don't care really about helping others. Unless, the other has money, and can help them. What happen to Compassionate Conservatives? They have no compassion. If they win back power, we have a future of political games, investigations, obsructions, wars, and poverty for little people, and wealth for those who have. They think they will be rewarded by the rich, but the rick only care about themselves. They are lovers of money, which is the root of all kinds of evil. Like letting people die, for political gain.

Oh yes please tell me all about the poor factory owners that employ 20 to 80 employees and pay them ever week for the work they've done. Tell me more about the taxes that that owner doesn't pay because he knows just the right people. Do you pay taxes? Do you have a job? You must not otherwise you would understand the problems that employers have when it comes to hiring, employing, covering medical and inspections of factories to comply with federal and state regulations. Move to a socialist country and let me continue makng money in this the largest capitalist nation in the world. And you are awaire of the fact that the Unites States feeds more people around the world with it's humanitarian programs than any other country. Do you CARE, then give! The church of your choice, the red cross, CARE, feed the children. There all looking for your donations to help suppliment there funding also.
Yeah, good idea. Lets close the clinics, bring our people, and our money, back home and let them fend this off by themselves which is what it appears they want to do. No sense putting others at risk of attack.

How do you expect them to help themselves? With almost 98% unemployment due to no jobs because of the earthquake, where are they supposed to get the money to help themselves? Houses are scarce. What housing is available has tripled in price and the owners expect the entire year's rent to be paid upfront. Can you do that?
I was there in the 80s as part of a UN force. Same SH!T HOLE then as now. They get a hand out and live off other Nations. Go and see how they live. Pigs live better than they do, not because there is no work, a high percet of them people are DRUG ADDICTED. Those people are doomed to rot in their own waste. Churches send people there all the time but them people simply do not wanna learn sh!t. Same as generations of welfare people here. As long as someone gives it to them they will not improve their life.
Slow and disorganized conditions occur naturally during a hopelessly prolonged response. Those that are committed to responding to huge crises need to get a grip on all of the resources, which are available, before they are needed. Yes this means getting prepared, pro-forma, and practicing in a civil defense program that is periodically exercised, a plan is needed, but more importantly the planning itself is the resource needed. We have a Civil War mentality, to wrap bandages, rather than provide water, sanitation and waste disposal.
Yet we have genuses in political positions that cannot recognize that basic biological function of the alimentary canal. Food plus water in one end and waste out the other, not politics.
Haiti has been a client state of America for a very long time, doing nothing and more nothing and then more nothing is as hopeless as it cruel.
It is very little wonder, that ignorance cannot be repealed, by the latest election, or voting for this and against that. There a clear and poignant message here is the United States of American should admit that it cannot or will not support the Haitian Relief Effort. It should make that decision for two reasons, American is so corrupted in its spirit that any attempt otherwise is lie giving false belief to this desperate nation. The other reason is to get the inept and incapable Americans out of the picture entirely. It seems that, Cuba and China and the UN are more likely to care about success than Americans. No doubt American pride will keep Americans interfering, and fouling the situation up more that it should have been. Americans can no more help Haiti than then can help themselves, taking too long to recognize the coincident economic crisis, and always underestimating the size of the task, and intent on stopping the world until it is perfect.
The crisis in Haiti, is God given, it take real efforts, and continual error to get it right, but the wait is a bigger waste, that any excess that may spill from the table.

Unfortunately for you the US (which I think you are referring to) will not admit to your poorly constructed opinion & is supporting relief efforts to Haiti, which it should & will. I don’t know how you came up with your “poignant message” other then you don’t like the US & probably blame the earthquake to the US.
The US is not corrupt in spirit, unlike your corrupt spirit the majority of the people is kind & have provided donation & help to the people of Haiti, some even got in the way trying to help.
The US is not inept & is very capable to help, you just hate the idea that the US is present since it disprove your notion of an cruel & uncaring US, which has a proven track record of helping other nation when suffering a natural calamity. Does it have to do with Katrina when help did not arrive on time? Did you suffered from it so now because your experience, you are easily dismissing many years of the proven track record of the US of helping others. What happened to New Orleans was the fault of the local governments of the area, who though it was better to flee that stay to organize evacuation of the people or organize relief efforts to offer assistance.

China will not help, not in their nature & to date there are no Chinese in Haiti. Cuba cannot since it doesn’t have resources so there is little presence there. Other then that they did claim the Haiti earthquake was US caused. The UN is very corrupt, has a track record of it.
You seem to be underestimating the size of the disaster of the Haiti earthquake, you expect it to be on its feet soon & because it is not, it’s somehow US fault.

Where do you expect the water to come from? Anything shipped in from other countries ends up being held up at the docks by the government for weeks and months. The country does not have its own bottled water that is enough for everyone. It is a sad situation.
It's good that we are giving thought and discussion about our fellow beings who are in trouble, no matter where they are living.
Yeah... we saw what happened in South Africa when they came to help out with their TB out break...millions mysterious died from AIDS! They are better off educating themselves and finding natural ways to get rid of this disease. Letting anybody from a European Country or Spain...is NOT the answer.
Especially the Red Cross...they will be doomed for sure! I think we all know that the UN is very corrupt as well so, who knows if it's really that bad over there! God is working in that Country and

Least we forget some of the shameful incidents which occurred in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina and the crisis phase of that manmade disaster and woeful response only lasted a few weeks.
Nor should be we so quick to poke fun at the lack of medical education of the protestors. I can well remember the near hysteria and urban myths which swirled around the country at the beginning of the AIDS epidemic in the early 1980s and even the federal government's reluctance or ineptness to address the racism and homophobia that accompanied misinformation such as one could catch the disease from public swimming pools or toilet seats. I recommend the book "And the Band Played On" as an excellent tome on how the conservative political ideology of Ronald Reagan and his Administration exacerbated the spread of HIV. And to those who would ignore those established facts as mere partisanship, I commend Pres. George W. Bush for his dedication in AIDS prevention efforts in Africa.
These clinics are the guilty party. The same who decimated the American Indians with small pox and the same who have injected millions with AIDS in Africa. The same that inject disease into Africans in the US. Make no mistake in thinking that these demons are there in Haiti to help. Please wake up. Look at the history of these demons and accept the truth of them...

I hardly think these clinics are spreading the plague like smallpox, Aids or the black death, but clearly if you want an infection go to a place like a hospital where there are lots of infected people or super germs that we have created. Educating the world for the goal of enlightenment and utopia is a fabulous idea, but reality is there will always be stupid and uneducated people. Bummer. God bless and god speed for what its worth. I think the ignorant responses left by many in reference to this article shows a clear premise that the ideal of ignorance shines throughout and is not limited by the borders of Haiti. Obviously, the people of this nation are suspcious of this disease-ridden outbreak, and are ill-informed as to its origin or nature because this generation of people never had to deal with this type of outbreak before. This only attests to the fact that the people of this nation need be educated in terms of the matter as people fear what they do not know.
Trust me...there is plenty of this type of rhetoric going on in America currently, and many viewers at home watching these type of people on tv deem the people who express themselves in this manner as ignorant as well. If the UN, USAID, US Congress were actually doing something other than writing reports and taking care of themselves this would not have happened. This and other diseases were noted as potential dangers as soon as the earthquake happened. No one prepared for it or rushed clean water and trash removal projects?
The problem is not all caused by the Haitian people. It is supplemented by the turf wars and career moves as well as the fund raising efforts of those self serving organizations claiming to be there to help. If supplies are being tied up at the docks, why aren't the NGO's making a public fuss? They do not want to endanger their turf.

Ignorance and fear have always been the hardest things to over come in a epidemic. People see there neighbors and freinds dying from a disease they really don't understand, and they lash out due to these fears. Vacinations and education, and cleanleness, especially with food and water, and handling of the human waste, are so very important, to stop the spread of cholora. With out educated, leadership, the ignorant will follow any leader even a stupied idiot, instead of thinking for themselves. Don't forget Haiti is a 3rd world country, and much of the population have no education at all, and the country has a history of the stonger corupt people taking advantage of the weak uneducated.
Morons...let's attack and protest the clinic that is trying to help us with our plague. Why are we throwing money at these idiots? Before Cholera it was AIDS and Maleria. After the Cholera it will be something else. Why? Because Haiti is a dump. Haiti will always BE a dump. The hurricane was natures way of trying to get rid of this pit entirely and here we go trying to keep it by throwing billions of dollars at it.
