What a scary drug for the masses to take who want a miracle cure to lose weight. 1/3 we eat too much with no exercise, 1/3 there's all this crap and chemicals in the food that make us fat, 1/3 metabolism/genetics You got a good one or you don't. My husband couldn't gain weight if he tried. Some people look at a cheesecake at get fat. But Watch the tv show biggest loser, anyone can lose weight with just diet and exercise. It just sucks and it's hard......It would be nice to have a pill that could help. But this combo would not be good. Topomax is hard enough for before who medically need it. Add a meth-speed like substance to it.....It would be a disaster.
I too was prescribed Topamax as a prophylactic for my migraines. I wasn't even aware that it caused weight loss, as I stopped taking it quickly after I realized the brain fogginess and speech impairment. As an attorney, I had to will myself to maintain focus and control my speech in court.
I take Topamax daily. It took 3 tries before I could handle it on a daily basis. I take it to prevent migraines. I had daily cluster migraines that no meds would help. So It works great and keeps almost all migraines away. But the side effects are HORRIBLE. Will you lose weight??? YES...At first You'll lose up to 10-12 pounds. It doesn't matter what you eat it just falls off, plus there's a huge loss of appetite. But then that's it. It Stops. No further loss. If you go off the drug you'll start to gain it back, And if you go off and then get back on after awhile. You never again get that weight loss effect like you did at first. But with it comes. Huge vision loss went from -5.75 to to a -7.00, Vision blurriness, Electric shock pains in your feet, All carbonated drinks taste horrible (gets better with time) But the worst thing is it makes you Retarded!!!
