"Pfizer said the issue was caused by trace amounts of a chemical called 2,4,6-tribromoanisole, which is used to treat wooden pallets often used to store and ship bottles."
This chemical is used to preserve wood - it contains fungicides and could also contain other pesticides - all of which are poisonous. No matter what the feds say, this is NOT a safe chemical and it never has been cleared for human consumption either directly or indirectly. No wonder some people got sick; and no wonder the drug companies are recalling contaminated shipments of lipitor and other medications!
Not surprised at the source, but ALL Big Pharmas, in their search for higher profits have been and will continue to do a shoddy job. Unfortunately, there is no way to sue these giants. Bush's arbitration rule is heavily stacked towards Big Biz.
Undisputably, there's "some" smell in plastic bottles. But MUSTY? Why drag about "bottltes made in Puerto Rico" into the issue. The MAIN issue is in the Lipitor pills packed in the bottles!!! Is Pfizer an artful escapist trying to save its BIG NAME??? Just focus on your product defect and rectify whatever... fast. You have a HUGE responsibility to do just that .
One would think that a product which brings in sales of 7.5 Billion dollars annually would be manufactured with utmost care. Why are these pills made in Puerto Rico? Where is the FDA to put a stop to production at the plant? Obviously, the problem has not surfaced the first time, but has happened before. People who take this product would be better off changing their diets than consuming this poison.

Oh yes where is Lipitor made ? NOT in America.

As much money it cost for 30 pills, you would think they were made in the states! How stupid of me!
