Mlke, a little off topic, but I totally agree. It is a shame that racism is somehow related to the comments above. Why are Tea Party members accused of racism? It is just unfounded. This is such a happy, peaceful movement and to think that someone on the left can accuse the Tea Party of anything negative is un-American. The rights of the offenders against the Tea Party to express their views should be immediately quashed and their heads kicked in to ensure preservation of the movement.

It also could last in the body for up to 15 years before detection as well.
This is my concern as well. The virus can still be spread during this 6 month window period of testing negative. This is why it is so important for everyone to use protection and be tested for STDs regularly. Just because you have no symptoms does not mean you are free of disease.
There is an HIV test called "the rapid test" that is accurate after 2 weeks of suspected infection. It requires blood to be drawn rather than the cheek swab of the old HIV test. It tests for viral load, not antibodies.

Most of the comments about HIV apply to sex activities both inside and outside the porn industry. Cal/OSHA, the regulatory agency that is currently deciding whether to make condoms mandatory, is probably having to consider that there is probably a similar number of pro football players who face health situations that are even more pervasive. Based on all the brain damage being done in that sport, do we ban all football? I just spent several weeks in Europe and was reminded how the Europeans have more freedoms than do U.S. citizens. I got back just in time to see Prop. 19 go down. I'm not a marajuana user, but if that's prohibited shouldn't we ban tobacco and booze, as well? Very, very rarely (i.e., only a few cases ever), a person could take six months to produce antibodies and test positive.

HIV is a virus. All virus infections are carried in the infected person's bloodstream.
Also, it CAN be carried in the saliva, as most people do have Gum Disease to some extent.
If your penis has an abrasion from say, um... friction, than you may have a break in the skin - no matter how small it (the lesion, not the penis) may be.
You do the math. There's a lot of "IFs" included here, and saliva may actually dilute the virus, but are you willing to take that chance?

For porn films it would surely be better to test everybody for HIV disease. Because in porn films condoms are not the way out. Or have you ever seen men wearing condoms? Not, of course. That is why producers of any porn film are anxious about their actors to be health.
